This is still an English teaching profile, not a gossip page 😄 But sometimes pop culture gives us real English expressions worth learning — and today’s phrase comes from Love Island UK: “exclusively dating.”

I wasn’t even a Love Island UK fan, but I couldn’t help supporting Julia, the Polish winner. 🇵🇱 As a Pole myself, I was so happy to see her win — she’s funny and absolutely unforgettable. ❤️

"Exclusively dating" means that they were choosing to date only each other, but they hadn’t officially labelled the relationship yet.

Did you know that THE has two pronunciations?

It’s pronounced /ðə/ before a consonant sound — like the book, the car, the teacher.

It’s pronounced /ðiː/ before a vowel sound — like the apple, the orange, the hour.

The important thing? It depends on the sound, not the spelling. For example, we say the university (/ðə/) because it starts with a “y” sound, but the hour (/ðiː/) because it starts with a vowel sound.

Are you watching the Olympics? Recently, I watched figure skating and the amazing Ilia Malinin. He was the favorite, but mentally he just wasn’t there. During the Olympic Games 2026, he reacted to a missed opportunity by saying:

“I blew it.”

💥 “I blew it” means “I messed up.”

It’s an informal expression we use when we feel we failed or didn’t perform as well as we could.

It’s the experience.
A party, a trip, a game, a good day with friends = fun.

😂 Funny is what makes you laugh.
It’s about humor.
A joke, a meme, a comedian = funny.

Hello everyone! 👋

Australian Open is on and one of the stars is Carlos Alcaraz. During his post match interview he milked the reacton from the audience.

What does it mean?
“to milk sb/sth”

👉 meaning: to enjoy or use a situation for as long as possible, often for fun, attention, or advantage 😏

🎾 Australian Open moment:
After his match, Carlos Alcaraz was changing his shirt when the interviewer joked:
🗣️ “You’re milking it…”

The crowd went WILD, Carlos laughed, took his time… and clearly loved every second of it.
That’s what we call milking the moment 🐄✨

I heard the phrase "White Whale" in an interview with Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio on Variety channel on You Tube. Leonardo is in One Battle After Another, while Jennifer is in Die My Love.

This phrase means a goal that feels almost impossible to reach, but you keep chasing it anyway.
