Santa Clause Time! Christmas Time!
Time of giving and receiving…

We have recently talked about „WHITEOUT" in our classes when revising: winter vocabulary. Now, we should also remind the word „BLACKOUT”.

We are all aware of the war taking place in Ukraine at this very moment. We are maybe not all aware of what it practically means in the context of winter and power cuts.

phrase: “WHAT ARE THE ODDS?”

You meet your schoolmate at the pick of the mountain in a foreign country.

You say: “I’d have never expected to see you here! After all, what are the odds on us choosing the same holiday destination, the same trail on the same day?”.

—-> meaning: what are the chances?

🎃to turn into a pumpkin 🛌💤 (idiom)

Actually it has nothing to do with Halloween. Rather with Cinderella…

MEANING:
to have to return home or go to bed/sleep due to the late hour of the night.

EXAMPLE:
It’s been a great party but it’s late for me now. I’m going to turn into a pumpkin sooner than later.
