We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a group of teachers from Hamelin, Germany 🇩🇪 for a valuable professional development exchange. Our teams shared teaching practices, discussed challenges, and learned from one another. Topics included growth mindset and building trust with students, fostering active student engagement through various teaching tools and practices, and encouraging a love of reading.
The visiting teachers also met with some of our students and gained firsthand insight into their experiences at CIS.Thank you to all involved in this event!🌍📚

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from a local animal shelter (KTOZ Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Krakowie) to our school — a visit that sparked meaningful conversations about animal welfare, rescue work, and the daily realities of shelter life.
To support this cause, our incredible students organized a charity bake sale. The turnout and generosity were truly heartwarming, and all funds raised have been donated to the local animal shelter to help cover food and basic needs for the animals in their care 🐾.
As a follow-up, during the final week of the school year, a group of our students visited the shelter in person. Seeing the animals, learning about their stories, and witnessing the impact of their efforts made the experience even more powerful.
It’s a beautiful reminder that small actions — one cupcake, one coin, one visit — can add up to something meaningful.
Huge thanks to everyone who baked, donated, supported, and showed compassion. Together, we’re making a difference — one paw at a time ❤️.

✨ Our students dived into Marketing and Branding and brought their ideas to life!
From learning the 4Cs of marketing, to designing products and brands, to confidently pitching their businesses — they did it all!
👥 Working in groups, they didn’t just present ideas — they made products and designed brands:
From logos and taglines
To choosing brand colors and fonts
All weaved into a unique brand story!
💡 Our business lessons aren’t just about reading textbooks — they’re about applying knowledge in the real world and learning by doing!

Learning languages is not only about learning languages, but also about discovering the cultural background that stands behind them. 🌍
Our Spanish class students experienced this first-hand during their visit to an art exhibition at the Cervantes Institute in Cracow.
The exhibition presents a series of works by Spanish-Colombian artist Sandra Gamboa, titled "Encapsulados" ("Encapsulated"). 🖼️
The themes revolve around mental health, which was especially interesting for those students planning to take the Psychology A Level course next year.

It’s always inspiring to see the community we’ve built—and even more so when our alumni return to give back.
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming back Nadia, one of our former students, who is now an ambassador for AI Ready—a new educational programme developed by Microsoft and Econverse, aimed at young learners. 💡
Nadia introduced the programme to our students as an exciting opportunity to explore the world of artificial intelligence and develop future-ready skills—no matter the career path they choose.
Her visit sparked further discussions about how our students and teachers are currently using AI, and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. 🌍🤖
Thank you, Nadia, for your visit! We look forward to keeping the conversation going! 🙌

Chronology is a key historical skill: it's essential to visualize past events and see how they connect. Timelines are a great way to represent this! If there’s an empty board in the classroom, the best way to use it is to encourage students to turn it into a creative learning tool. 🧠
Recently in our AS History class, students revised the events of 1895–1920 in Russia 🇷🇺. They worked together to put the events in the correct chronological order and then organized them on a timeline 📅.
After that, they were given printed-out emojis and were asked to attach symbols to each event to reflect its mood or impact. This creative activity not only made the lesson more fun, but it also helped them remember the chapter better! 💡

Both our IGCSE and A Level Biology curricula cover the structure and function of the circulatory system — essential knowledge for understanding how the human body works. One of the key practical exercises is the dissection of a heart. 🫀
Last week, our IGCSE students had the opportunity to dissect a pig’s heart, which is anatomically very similar to the human heart. During the session, they discovered why many people believe the heart is on the left side of the chest — when in reality, it's positioned in the center. 🔬
While some students were initially reluctant to handle the heart, others were enthusiastic and eager to explore this fascinating organ up close. A memorable and insightful hands-on experience! 📚

✨We were treated to beautiful weather last Friday for our annual CIS Family Picnic ✨ — a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy student performances, share delicious food, and have fun with a variety of activities!
This year’s picnic was extra special thanks to our high school student volunteers, who brought the fun to life and supported the teachers and staff with activities like soap bubble stations, temporary tattoos, collaborative art projects, and classic picnic games.
Seeing students, parents, and staff connecting and celebrating the CIS spirit reminded us of what makes our community so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable!
