Dear diary...

On this beautiful warm day, we’re looking back on our Poetry Evening, a part of Irish Week ☘️

In the cozy atmosphere of Massolit Books & Café, over tea and surrounded by books, we spent an evening immersed in poetry, conversation, and Irish culture. Prof. Krystyna Zabawa offered insightful introductions that gave the meeting deeper context and enriched our conversations on culture and history. We were also delighted to welcome our special guest, Dr. Dupuy from the University of Galway, whose presence and reflections made the evening even more inspiring.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their words and thoughts, and helped create such a wonderful atmosphere ❤️

On April 18th, we had the pleasure of taking part in the inspiring conference “Teaching for Tomorrow” hosted by and our university.

It was a day full of thought-provoking plenaries, hands-on workshops, and innovative ideas on the future of ELT, covering everything from AI in education to creative teaching strategies.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow as future educators and we're looking forward to putting these insights into practice! 💡

On April 1st, the members of the English Philology Society, joined by Prof Gerard Kilroy and Prof Krystyna Zabawa, had the pleasure of experiencing a remarkably modern take on William Shakespeare's The Tempest (Burza) at the Bagatela Theatre! 🎭✨

Directed by Franciszek Szumiński, this production transported us to a dreamlike island full of magic, love, and power struggles. Seeing Shakespeare's final masterpiece brought to life on stage was an unforgettable experience and a fantastic opportunity for our society to bond over our shared passion for British literature and theatre. 📖💙

Swipe to see some glimpses of our magical evening! 📸⬇️
