Join our English Studies with Spanish programme and discover how language learning opens the door to literature, culture and international academic exchange.
Students and staff of the English Philology with Spanish programme at the Institute of Literary and Linguistic Studies, Faculty of Humanities, UJK, took part in a guest lecture by Prof. Karolina Kumor from the University of Warsaw, Director of the Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies.
The lecture focused on corrales de comedias and the theatre of Spain’s Golden Age, offering students an engaging insight into Spanish literature, theatre, cultural history and social life. It showed how learning a foreign language becomes much richer when it leads to encounters with art, history and the imagination of other periods.
The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere and we hope it will lead to further cooperation in the field of Spanish and Iberian studies.

Before the holidays, students and lecturers of the English Studies with Spanish programme held a Christmas meeting with Erasmus+ students from the Universidade de Vigo and the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. Together, they prepared and enjoyed Polish and Spanish dishes (including tortilla de patatas, torrijas, pierogi, and decorated gingerbread), while chatting in Polish, English, and Spanish. The event offered an opportunity for integration, cultural exchange, and hands-on language practice, and marked the first of many similar initiatives planned for the programme.
