We’re really happy to see how much interest and engagement our meetings have been getting lately.
Over the last two weeks, we’ve welcomed many new guests.
And last week gave us plenty to talk about. We discovered the legendary Alamut Castle, listened to Kasia’s funny speech about her speed-dating experience, and finished the evening with challenging Table Topics.......where one of our guests won Best Table Topics! Congratulations Avanish 👏

Thank you to everyone who joined us, spoke, listened, laughed, and contributed to the evening. See you next Wednesday!

Missed our last workshops? You really missed something!

Over the past weeks, we had two energetic workshops led by Marek and Andrzej. Thanks to them, we explored body language and Table Topics with impromptu speeches.

And wow… it was on fire! 🔥
We learned, practiced, experimented, and immediately tried to put new techniques into action.

And judging by some of the photos… we definitely took the hand gestures part seriously😄🙌

Want to try it yourself? Join us, step onto the stage, practise your communication skills, and have some fun along the way.

📅 See you every Wednesday!

The secret to a successful meeting is...
..if it is a secret, why would we tell you?😉

Ok just kidding; it's not a secret. Borys shared practical rules for organizing successful and productive meetings. We explored what makes a meeting effective, how its quality can be evaluated, and what can be improved to achieve better results.
If you’d like to learn more, join us every Wednesday - after all, every successful evening is the result of the combined efforts of its members and guests - ordinary enthusiasts striving for self-improvement or to hone their skills.

A perfect example was Kaszia’s speech. She shared a personal story about her passion for Pink Floyd’s The Wall, reminding us that every person brings a unique interest, experience, or perspective that can inspire others.

Don't miss this Wednesday; we're hosting a workshop on impromptu speaking!

What if our entire universe is just a bubble?

At Toastmasters, one evening may be about business communication, another about literature and history, and another may take us into the possible structure of the universe itself...

During one of our latest meetings, led by our member Marek Sporek, we explored an unusual cosmological theory🌌

The model presents our universe as a three-dimensional “bubble” formed within a higher-dimensional, quantum fluid-like primordial ocean. It combines ideas from cosmic inflation, the holographic principle, brane cosmology, and fluid-gravity analogies, suggesting that our universe may have emerged as a local explosion within a much larger physical structure.

Or.... to explain it more simply: Imagine a giant sink filled with soapy water and constantly growing foam. In the bubble universe theory, each bubble could represent a separate universe, while the entire mass of foam could represent a much larger multiverse.
The phrase “thinking outside the bubble” has taken on a whole new meaning.

Did we explain it badly, or do you see the theory differently? Leave us a comment and come to one of our meetings to practice your speaking skills by challenging Marek and debating the idea with him during the break.

Curious to explore more interesting topics? Join us as a guest at our next meeting!

Participation is free, and everyone is welcome!

On July 1, we held not only a meeting dedicated to a very interesting topic (which we will tell you more about soon), but also a special moment for our club: the meeting was opened by our new Club President, Samira🎉

Sounds fancy, right? President.
But in Toastmasters, every club role and every board member role is not about titles or power. It is a chance to learn and practice new skills in a supportive environment.

Being a Club President means more than welcoming each meeting. It means showing leadership, strength, patience, and the energy needed to support the club, keep it moving forward, and make it stronger. And we are sure that Samira has all of these qualities💛

We are happy to introduce all officers of the Club Board:

🌟 President of the Club — Samira
🏛️ Sergeant at Arms (SAA)/Secretary/Immediate Past President — Borys
🤝 Vice President of Membership (VPM) — Marek
🎓 Vice President of Education (VPE) — Cecylia
📣 Vice President of Public Relations (VPPR) — Mila
💰 Club Treasurer — Arek

Each of the officers will support the club in their own role and develop specific skills, helping ensure that our meetings run smoothly, share our stories with the public, welcome guests, and continue creating even more opportunities for growth.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to our former president, Borys, for his dedication, presence, and constant support. Thank you for always being there for the club, helping members with different roles and challenges, being an excellent mentor, introducing many new technologies to the club, and dedicating your time and energy to make our club better 👏

Many things may be changing, but one thing stays the same: our doors are always open to you.
We wholeheartedly invite you to discover what Toastmasters is and how it can positively impact you.

Across the Atlantic, What a Night!

This time, we can proudly say that we broke our club attendance record!

A huge WOW to our incredible community, 21 participants joined us for an unforgettable evening filled with energy, laughter, learning, and inspiration.

Our USA-themed meeting took us on a journey across the Atlantic, and the atmosphere was simply amazing. We enjoyed challenging speeches, a fantastic 20-minute speaking challenge, engaging discussions, and the kind of positive energy that reminds us why we love Toastmasters.

One of the highlights of the evening was welcoming our special Italian guest Ivan, who joined us for the first time. We hope this was the beginning of a long Toastmasters friendship!

And of course, there was one person whose enthusiasm could light up the entire room and inspire everyone around him, our dear Adrian Dornia His positive energy, encouragement, and support always bring something special to our meetings.

But why was Adrianwith us this evening?

Because we were celebrating one of our club champions! 🏆

Congratulations to Jan Pawlak who has been collecting awards this year and achieved great success in the Humorous Speech Contest. We are proud to have such a talented and dedicated member in our club. People like Janek inspire us to step onto the stage, challenge ourselves, and continue growing as speakers and leaders.

A heartfelt thank you to Adrian for sharing this special moment with us, and our warmest congratulations to Janek on his achievements.

Once again, Silesia speech Masters proved that it is more than just a speaking club. It is a place for learning, growth, friendship, encouragement, and a community that truly feels like family.

So if you've ever thought about joining Toastmasters, don't hesitate. Come and visit us, you might just find your second family here. ❤️

Every Toastmasters meeting is an opportunity to grow, learn, and step outside our comfort zone.

Whether we are delivering a speech, participating in Table Topics, evaluating fellow members, or simply listening and learning, each meeting helps us become more confident communicators and better leaders.

What makes Toastmasters truly special is the supportive environment where people from different backgrounds come together to share ideas, experiences, and perspectives. Every speech tells a story, every evaluation offers valuable insight, and every meeting brings a new opportunity for personal and professional development.

Small steps taken consistently lead to remarkable progress, and Toastmasters is a great place to begin that journey.

At one of the Toastmasters meetings, Mark took us on a fascinating journey through the history and culture of Egypt. He spoke about Cairo, the rich legacy of ancient Egypt, and the contributions of a Polish Egyptologist to the study and understanding of this remarkable civilization. Through a collection of engaging photographs and stories, he brought Egypt’s history and heritage to life for all of us.

This was another reminder that Toastmasters is much more than a place to practice public speaking. Beyond speeches and communication skills, it also presents an opportunity to learn about diverse cultures, traditions, and ways of life. During his presentation, Mark introduced us to various aspects of Egyptian culture, helping us better appreciate the diversity and richness of this ancient nation.

Among the many elements that shape a nation's identity, traditional clothing is often one of the most visible and meaningful. It reflects history, values, customs, and cultural heritage. Through his presentation, he effectively and beautifully demonstrated how clothing can serve as a powerful symbol of identity and provide us with a deeper understanding of Egyptian culture.

Presentations like this broaden our perspectives, inspire curiosity, and remind us that learning from one another is one of the most valuable experiences Toastmasters has to offer.

If you are reading this post, it means that you have probably heard the latest news or you are simply addicted to doomscrolling… But if you haven’t heard what happened last weekend to one of our members, it means that you are simply a doomscroller! And this time it’s good for you, because you must know that our member, Jan Pawlak, won the International Humorous Speech contest and thus became A CHAMPION!
The International Conference took place in Rzeszów. A lot of people from different parts of Poland and other countries came to the city to listen to the best speakers of District 108 Toastmasters (Poland, Estonia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia). Jan competed with the best of the best, but it was his performance about doomscrolling that gained the most recognition not only from the judges but also from the audience!
It is essential to mention that this victory was not a coincidence or just luck. This was not Jan’s first success of this kind. In 2022, Jan won the National Polish Contest in Humorous Speeches (plus Audience Award), and then he won his first championship! But as you can see now, the borders of Poland turned out to be too narrow for his talent.
“Is it just talent?” you can ask. Definitely not. Jan has worked hard for his success(es) for many years. This humble man has been a member of ours for over 10 years. He showed us that where there is a will, there is a way. Despite difficulties, stress, and his own imperfections (which only he sees…).

Jan, we are proud of you!

(These are some old photos of Jan)
