Hello! I don't normally share this sort of content but this is Antoś, a little 3 year old boy in Poland dying of cancer who desperately needs financial help. Doctors in Poland and Europe have given up on Antoś. The only hospital that will undertake treatment is in Texas, USA. The family desperately needs money to give their little boy his final chance to be treated. If you can, please donate or share. And now an International Booker Prize novel that thoroughly disappointed me: The Discomfort of Evening by Marieke Lucas Rijneveld.

Initially I felt some sympathy for the main character, but as her misdeeds became more and more unpleasant, all empathy for her disappeared. I don't want to give away too much but if you've read this acclaimed novel and you disagree with my opinion, please let me know, I'll be happy to chat about it :)

Snow - John Banville

I've just finished reading this murder mystery by one of my favourite authors. A perfect winter read for those who enjoy detective fiction. Banville's language is superb (as always), the mood sinister and forboding, the winter setting perfectly reflects the grim murder. I have yet to read a novel by John Banville that I don't like and this one certainly doesn't disappoint.
