🕰️ How do we define the beginning and end of the Second World War? And can one date truly capture the experience of all of Europe?

📍 On Sunday, 𝟐𝟒 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝟐.𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐦 at the Muzeum II Wojny Światowej Museum of the Second World War invites visitors for a thought-provoking curator-led tour entitled “𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑾𝒂𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒏𝒅?”, during which you will look beyond the familiar dates of 1 September 1939 and 8 May 1945 to explore how history, memory, and politics continue to shape our understanding of the war today.

🎙️ The tour will be led in 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 🇬🇧 by historian Jędrzej Piekara, PhD, who will guide visitors through the complex and often painful perspectives of Central and Eastern Europe — where the end of the war did not always mean the return of freedom.
