🎲 The first-ever Gdańsk Tech Game Night was a great success!

What happened during the evening? 🐱 Kittens exploded. 🕵️ Hi**er was exposed. 🔥 Witches were burned. 😄 And everyone had an amazing time!

A huge thank you to all participants for bringing such a positive atmosphere, plenty of laughter, and just the right amount of friendly competition.

Special thanks go to Vice-Rector Józef Sienkiewicz for joining the fun and supporting the initiative.

Online Spanish for Beginners Course – Opportunity for Students

Students interested in learning Spanish are invited to take part in the Online Spanish for Beginners Course offered by Universidad Nacional del Sur in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. The program will be held during the second semester of 2026, from August to December.

The course is designed for students with little or no prior knowledge of Spanish who would like to develop their language skills in a flexible online format. Classes will be conducted in an interactive and supportive learning environment, helping participants build basic communication skills while gaining insights into the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.

Format: Online
Course fee: USD 120 for the entire course (one-time payment)
Available places: Up to 4 students per partner university

Before the course begins, nominated students will participate in a short online placement interview to confirm that the beginner level is the most suitable option for them.

We are happy to invite you to Integration Meeting: Kayaking and Bonfire in Kiełpino, organized together with our partner universities.

📍 Location: Kajaki Radunia Orion Plus, Street Grodziskowa 22, 83-307 Kiełpino

The event will begin with a kayaking trip lasting approximately 3 hours, followed by a bonfire with sausage roasting and refreshments.

We will provide:
kayaks and necessary equipment,refreshments and sausages for the bonfire.
Please note that transportation to Kiełpino is on your own. You can get there either by car, or by train (the nearest station is Kiełpino Kartuskie).

You are welcome to bring your children with you — please make sure to include them in the registration form.

As part of the ENHANCE alliance and our strategic development plans, we had the great pleasure of hosting a delegation from Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden).
The visit was dedicated to the exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of student accommodation and the development of university infrastructure among European universities.

This is the final meeting in the series – Open Up! Dare Yourself! vol. 2.
The session is dedicated to communication in an international academic environment and explores why even people who are fluent in a foreign language may still feel insecure in communication situations. Together, we analyzed the psycholinguistic and social mechanisms that influence the way we speak and learned practical strategies for increasing confidence and ease in communication.

DARE YOURSELF!” is part of the project “Internationalization of Gdańsk University of Technology: development of WELCOME SERVICES / promotion of WELCOME CULTURE” (No. BNP/WTP/2023/1/00169/U/00001) and is funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the “Welcome to Poland” program.

We continue the series of meetings and training sessions – Open Up! Dare Yourself! vol. 2.
On May 26, a training session was held at the STOS Center, focusing on building inclusive communication — open, accessible, and non-exclusionary — tailored to the needs of diverse groups of recipients, such as students, employees, and people from different cultural and social backgrounds.

Call for Contributions: “Enhancing Umbau” at RWTH Aachen University
RWTH Aachen University invites doctoral candidates and early-career researchers to submit proposals for the interdisciplinary doctoral colloquium Enhancing Umbau: Interdisciplinary Practices and Processes, which will take place on 15–16 October 2026 in Aachen, Germany. The proposal deadline is 10 July 2026.

The colloquium focuses on Umbau — the adaptation, transformation, and continued use of existing buildings, neighbourhoods, and urban environments — as an essential strategy for creating resource-efficient, climate-neutral, socially just, and aesthetically rich built environments. Bringing together perspectives from architecture, urban planning, heritage conservation, design computation, artistic research, social geography, and related disciplines, the event aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on working with existing structures.
Researchers are encouraged to address one or more of the colloquium’s core themes: Temporality, Valuation, Friction, and Convergence.

Contributions may take empirical, theoretical, design-based, or artistic-research approaches, especially those that cross disciplinary boundaries or connect fields such as material sciences, sociology, environmental studies, real-estate economics, and building law.

The programme will feature 15-minute presentations followed by discussion sessions. Selected contributions may also be considered for publication in a planned peer-reviewed thematic collection.
