🇬🇧 The Humans in the Room 2026: It was unforgettable! 🌟

This August, I was lucky enough to be part of an incredible teacher development programme, “The Humans in the Room,” by the SOL organization, held in picturesque Barnstaple, North Devon, England.

It was a week filled not just with theory, but with deep meaning. We focused on what matters most: the people in the classroom, the connection between teacher and student, well-being, and how to make learning truly alive and memorable.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to and for your incredible expertise, inspiration, practical insights (from vocabulary development to using AI in the classroom), and the warm atmosphere you created.

To the organizers SOL - Sharing One Language - thank you for the flawless organization, the cozy welcome in Devon, and the opportunity to learn in such an inspiring place.

To my colleagues from all over Europe - thank you for the unforgettable trips around North Devon, the evening reflections, the exchange of ideas, and, of course, for a strong friendship.

I am returning to work with a huge suitcase of ideas that I can't wait to implement in my lessons, keeping our main motto in mind: the Human must always remain at the center of education! 🇬🇧📝❤️

🇬🇧 I’m excited about the upcoming IATEFL Conference in Brighton!

I’m really looking forward to gaining new insights, fresh ideas, and valuable experience, as well as catching up with fellow teachers and friends.

I won’t be presenting this year, but next year I definitely won’t miss the application deadline 🤪

And, as has already become a bit of a tradition, I’m going with my fellow teachers, Ewa and Ola whom I met through IATEFL Poland🫶🏻

🇵🇱 Z niecierpliwością czekam na nadchodzącą konferencję IATEFL w Brighton!
Bardzo się cieszę na możliwość zdobycia nowej wiedzy, świeżych pomysłów i cennego doświadczenia, a także spotkania z innymi nauczycielami i znajomymi.

W tym roku nie występuję, ale w przyszłym na pewno nie przegapię terminu zgłoszeń 🤪

I już tradycyjnie jadę razem z moimi koleżankami po fachu - Ewą i Olą, które poznałam dzięki IATEFL Poland🫶🏻

Many online courses and influencers promise that you can "become fluent in 3 months." Unfortunately, this is more marketing than reality. Learning a language well takes much longer, and here's why:

1️⃣Language learning is a gradual process.
Your brain needs time to form and strengthen new neural connections - it can't happen overnight.
2️⃣Vocabulary takes time to build. Even basic fluency requires thousands of words, and memorizing them all in 90 days is unrealistic.
3️⃣Grammar and structures need practice. Understanding rules isn't enough, you must use them repeatedly to make them automatic.
4️⃣Listening and speaking skills develop slowly. It takes many hours of real interactions to understand native speakers and respond naturally.
5️⃣Cultural context matters. Real fluency means understanding jokes, idioms, and cultural references - such things you only absorb over time.
6️⃣Consistent exposure is kev. You can make great progress in 3 months if you study intensively, but not reach fluency.
7️⃣Each learner is different. Your age, motivation, environment, and previous language experience all affect your pace.

🇬🇧 In traditional lessons, the teacher is the expert and the learner follows the plan.
In neurolanguage coaching, coach and learner work as partners.

There is reflection.
There is feedback.
There is real connection.

Learning becomes personal meaningful and tailored to you, not the book.
Because progress happens when the learner feels seen and heard.
