The Lunar Lander template is out!

I started it as a „little” for fun project for the summer and ended up with two months of designing and preparing manuals.
I think I have to go on the space detox now.

I hope it will be a fun build. I really like the fact that this concept of building with cardboard using only scissors, screwdriver, nuts and bolts and NO GLUE translates niecely into such complex model.
It is not a limiting gimmick but an approach that actually makes the building easier, safer and cleaner.

Finished!
I put a LOT of love into this one :-)

Cardboard model of an Apollo Lunar Lander - the coolest spaceship ever built.
The original also looked a bit like made out of cardboard so I think it is a good match.

I hope it will be an engaging build for a 12 year old and up kids or younger with a help of a parent.
All you need is a desktop printer, paper glue, scissors, screwdriver, nuts and bolts.
And few hours of building time.

Template coming next week.

I am catching a space phase from time to time.
Lately I sunk into long list of documentaries on Gemini and Apollo programs and decided to do my take on the Lunar Module. I have the ascent stage part almost ready :-) Trying to make it into a complex but not hard to build model. It is gonna be a big one - about 30x30x30cm together with the descent stage (this four leg bottom platform)

In this lesson you can learn how to build simple cardboard models of mechanisms you can find in (almost) every car.

Core lesson themes:
- Learning what are linkage mechanisms and how they work
- Opportunity to explore the topic of car mechanics and design
- Creating virtual and analogue phisical of mechanisms

Building these model is an engaging hands-on activity designed for students 10-15 yo.

New lesson idea!

DIY Robot Face Modules are designed for beginner robotics classes. Each student (or pair) builds one simple module – it is a quick and easy project that takes from 10 up to 20 minutes.

Once each student/group have finished building, they can combine their modules to create different robot faces, experimenting with expressions, design, and functionality.

This lesson is a nice blend technical skills with creativity, craft and hands-on exploration.
