When the idea of meetings about emerged, we thought we would have a lot of good practices and organizations 🙋 🙋‍♂️ 🙋‍♀️ that would want to share their knowledge and experience.

Oh, how we were wrong🙈

It turned out that employee volunteering is an activity that few companies practice, making it challenging to find an organization that shares good practices in this area. Many organizations want to initiate such activities, but they are unsure of how to begin, what is required, and so on.

We are fortunate because not only have we managed to invite organizations that have something to be proud of, but they can also, based on their previous experience, help many other organizations that wish to work in this area. And they are also willing and open to share this knowledge 🤗.

While absorbing this knowledge, on this summer June morning, you can eat breakfast 🥐 🥓 ☕ with great people ☀️ Monika Hinc, Natalia Siuda, Karolina Weiner, 🎯 Maciej Kochanowski, Piotr Wojtera and Maja Czerniak. You'll have the opportunity to learn from their experiences, ask questions, and network with other professionals in a relaxed and friendly environment.

🌟 Breakfast with DEI ☕ 🥪 🥞 🥗Yesterday, we had the pleasure of starting the day in an unusual way by participating in a breakfast organized by one of the organizations in the Tricity. This delicious😋company tradition of shared breakfasts🥐definitely brings people closer and allows for conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.

Our Foundress Anna Brzezińska - Mattos had the honor of being a guest to discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).Special thanks to Anna Łuszczak and Olena Lavrentieva - the initiators of this meeting. Olena deserves additional recognition for her perseverance in bringing this idea to fruition, as it took us several months to agree on a suitable date😊.

Kudos👏to the entire organization for showing up in such large numbers, including the management! This demonstrates how seriously you approach the topic of DEI.
During the meeting, we discussed the importance of DEI in the context of the organization and how to dispel stereotypes associated with this topic. DEI is not a trend or ideology – it is a fundamental element of our professional and personal lives, and actions that have been part of organizational culture for years have now gained a name.

Over the 2 hours meeting, we covered many important topics:
✅ What exactly is DEI in the context of organizations?
✅ What positive impacts does DEI have on our work environment?
✅ How can diversity within the organization enrich our workplace culture, productivity, and engagement?

We also focused on building intergenerational teams that can leverage the competencies brought by each generation.

By building on what unites us, we add the unique values that each generation brings.We also reminded ourselves that DEI is primarily about respecting human rights. According to the declaration of human rights: "The ideal of a free human being enjoying civil and political freedom can only be achieved when conditions are created to ensure that everyone can exercise their civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights."

Many organizations have supported grassroots initiatives from employees for years, driven by the desire to help and collaborate🤝.
These are often human impulses, and there is strength💪 in numbers.
No one questions the name or impact of these actions, as the focus is on the act of helping 🌍 itself.

However, challenges arise when an organization grows, necessitating the coordination of volunteer activities for logistical,📋 organizational, and safety reasons for volunteers.

Organizations whose management supports volunteering and understands its impact are fortunate. Unfortunately, in some organizations,management is not favourable to such initiatives, often due to a lack of knowledge rather than ill will 🤔.

As a good leader, you face sales challenges and increasing competition while noticing a decline in team engagement 📉.
In the meantime,you receive a request for budget support for employee volunteering.

It was a very good meeting.🌟
Thanks Up Foundation for an invitation and congratulations! 🎉

First of all, we highly recommend the venue Kawiarnia Gdańsk ☕ itself.Sitting at a communal table right at the start of the meeting provides a huge leap in getting to know each other and somewhat forces networking - you simply can’t help but 💬"chat".

Secondly,the group consisted of interesting, engaged,and smiling people😀,which we personally love and always pay attention to.

Thirdly, the topics discussed were very intriguing because, although the subject exists in organizations, it's often addressed as an afterthought, and sometimes employees themselves are unaware that such interesting and good things are happening in their organization.

We provided some information on what an employee volunteering is,the different types it can take,and shared some data on the value that it brings to organizations.

In the second half of the meeting, we had an explosive panel that was super interesting.
It was easy to listen for hours because all the panelists and panel leader. Ladies Monika Hinc, Ewelina Dampc, Ewa Patyk and Magdalena Pakmur you rocked!

In addition to their extensive experience in the field,possess that crucial element for success: faith in what they do, passion, and immense dedication. Additionally,there is supportive management and teams that fully understand why these actions are so important.
