The 16th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) ended in Katowice.
🏆🇸🇮 Peter Andolšek from Slovenia got title of Absolute Winner. He also received gold medal and the titles of Best in Observations and Best in Data Analysis.
🏆🇷🇴 The title of the Best in Theoretical Tasks was won by Andrei - Darius Dragomir - representative of Romania.
The jury awarded the Participants with 🥇27 gold, 🥈41 silver and 🥉50 bronze medals and 29 honorable mentions.
A team competition was also organized, in which players from different countries competed in randomly selected teams. This year, the following teams won ex auequo:

🇨🇾 The prize for the best Olympic posters went to the teams of Afghanistan and Cyprus
"It was the best organized Olympiad" - said prof. Aniket Sule - President of the IOAA.
The International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics was held in the Silesian Voivodeship (Śląskie. Pozytywna energia) for the second time. The previous one was organized in 2011. This year's competition was attended by 250 competitors from 50 countries.
"Congratulations to all the winners - the friendships you made here will pay off in your further scientific work" - said Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship.
