Catching the last rays of summer and welcoming the official start of autumn!
During today's G7 German lesson, we moved the second half of our double block straight to the school pitch. After working on our worksheets, it was time to put theory into practice through movement!
Here is how we ran our outdoor German session:
The Rules: We used a ball to review vocabulary from our unit "Me and my nearest environment...". Black and white colors were "hot" (you couldn't catch the ball), while all other colors were safe to catch!
Communication in Action: Right after every single throw, students had to ask and answer questions about family members, households, and family trees.
Collaboration & ATL: Combining language practice with active play helps build confidence, fosters strong peer cooperation, and keeps Energy high.
G7 has built a solid foundation for talking about their families, and combining learning with outdoor fun was a total success.

Although the leaves are already turning yellow and our trainers got wet from running through the morning grass, running dictation turned out to be a fantastic way to learn Polish spelling and brought lots of joy to our Grade 6 students!
There was running, memorising, teamwork and, of course, some funny mistakes along the way. Learning spelling is definitely more fun when you can do it on the move! Photo credit: Agata Kozłowska

🌿 ISOB Integration Day at Wake Park Myślęcinek 🌿

What a wonderful way to start the school year together!

Our ISOB community gathered at Wake Park in Myślęcinek for an afternoon dedicated to what matters so much in an international school — meeting, connecting, talking, playing and simply enjoying being together.

Looking at these photos, you can see what ISOB is really about. Students of different ages spending time together, new friendships beginning, old friendships growing stronger, parents having the chance to meet and talk, and our whole community sharing one space outside the classroom.

There was plenty happening — activities, games, face painting, swings, food and lots of conversations — but perhaps the most important part was simply having time for one another. ❤️

With families and students from so many different cultures and backgrounds, events like this remind us that integration is not something that happens only inside school walls. A community is built through shared experiences.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. And a big thank you to Wake Park Myślęcinek for providing such a fantastic setting for our ISOB family.

🌍 **FROM ISOB TO THE MARSHALL ISLANDS – CELEBRATING FRANK’S ACHIEVEMENT!**

Today we are delighted to share a remarkable achievement by one of our ISOB students, **Franciszek “Frank” Zalesiński**.

For several months, Frank independently researched **Universal Basic Income (UBI) in the Marshall Islands**, analysing the country’s Enra programme, its potential impact on the economy, its long-term financial sustainability, and the wider questions it raises about the future of UBI around the world.

Frank initially published his research on **ResearchGate**. His work then caught the attention of the editors of *The Marshall Islands Journal*, who invited him to prepare a shorter version for their readers.

And on **14 August 2026**, Frank’s work appeared in the national newspaper of the Marshall Islands! 📰🌏

Under the headline **“Can the world’s first UBI survive?”**, his analysis was published across two pages of the newspaper — an extraordinary accomplishment for a secondary school student researching an economic issue taking place thousands of kilometres away from his school in Bydgoszcz.

And this is not Frank’s only academic endeavour. Earlier this year, he prepared an essay for a competition organised by **Harvard**, and he has recently completed another piece for an economics competition in the United Kingdom. He is now awaiting the results in October. 🤞

Those who know Frank also know that he is unlikely to tell you any of this himself. 😊 His modesty makes us even more eager to recognise the qualities behind this achievement: **intellectual curiosity, independence, determination, consistency, creativity and a genuine passion for understanding the world.**

At ISOB, we want our students to go beyond learning what is already known. We want them to **ask questions, investigate, challenge ideas and contribute their own voices to conversations that reach far beyond the classroom.**

Frank has done exactly that.
