Grupa FABRIC powstała z potrzeby szerzenia wśród projektantów i architektów najnowocześniejszych myśli i technologi projektowych jakimi są narzędzia generatywne. Organizując cykle warsztatów o tematyce projektowania komputacyjnego, mamy na celu rozwijanie myśli projektowej młodych projektantów. Działając przy Zakładzie Cyfrowych Technologii w Architekturze i Urbanistyce Politechniki Łódzkiej chcemy rozwijać metody projektowe o nowe narzędzia i procesy, wspomagające współczesnych architektów. Grupę założyło dwóch zapaleńców projektowania generatywnego:
Sebastian Białkowski - inicjator i jeden z założycieli, absolwent Dessau Institute of Architecture przy Hochschule Anhalt w Niemczech, asystent i doktorant w Zakładzie Technologii Cyfrowych w Architekturze i Urbanistyce PŁ. Stypendysta Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst. Prowadził niejedne warsztaty w kraju, w tym warsztaty P3 Workshop, zakończonych budową największego Pawilonu Parametrycznego w Polsce, jak i zagranica np. w Niemczech czy Urugwaju. Mateusz Pankiewicz - założyciel grupy, absolwent Faculty of Architecture of Graz Univeristy of Technology. W okresie studiów na TUGraz pracował jako Teaching Assistant w Institute of Architecture and Media prowadząc zajęcia ze studentami a także warsztaty lokalne, jak i międzynarodowe (seria warsztatów Adriart). Stypendysta Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark dla najbardziej innowacyjnego dyplomu magisterskiego.

FABRIC emerged to spread up-to-date ideas and innovative design technologies - generative tools - among fellow students, designers and architects. With computational design workshops we are aiming at helping young designers develop new sets of skills and design approaches by expanding their set of tools. Operating at the Department of Digital Technologies in Architecture and Urban Plannig at Technical University of Lodz we want to expand and develop existing methods with new tools and processes aiding modern architects. FABRIC was founded by two generative design hotspurs:
Sebastian Białkowski is the initiator and one of the FABRIC founder. He graduated from Dessau Institute of Architecture at Hochschule Anhalt, Germany and currently
makes his PhD and helds Assisstant position at the Department of Digital Technologies in Architecture and Urban Plannig at TUL. Receiver of Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst scholarship. He was leading many workshops in Poland (including famous P3 Workshops completed with the built of the boggest parametric pavilion in the country), as well as abroad in Germany or Urugway. Mateusz Pankiewicz is the second FABRIC founder. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of Graz Univeristy of Technology. During his studies at TU Graz he was the Teaching Assisstant at the Institute of Architecture and Media
where he was teaching and leading workshops in Graz, as well as abroad (Adriart workshops). Receiver of Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark Stypendium (Wirtschaft trifft Wissenschaft) for the most innovative Master Thesis project.
