This is a short feedback from Mary Foran the teacher from Nashua who made a comment to a facilitator "after our last VC with Fairground Middle School from Nashua:
"Agnieszka's students have a beautiful way of speaking from their experience and heart and it is always a pleasure to hear from them. I feel like I have watched several of them grow up since we first started doing partnered VCs a couple of years ago - they are lovely young people with important things to say." My dear students: Antek, Gosia, Laura, Aneta and the rest of the videoconference group - I am proud of YOU :)
Your teacher A.D. :)

On Wednesday, 28 March 2018, a very special videoconference took place. It was because of the fact that our youngest students attended that meeting , most of whom took part for the first time. The Hlukhiv Secondary School - Ukraine was our partner.
The VC began with students explaining what community means to them, and describing some of the things they like about their community as well as suggesting things that they might change about their community if they could. Next, students talked about some of the festivals and holidays that are celebrated in their community, and what these mean to them personally. Students described a range of festivals, including religious and cultural ones like Christmas, Easter, and New Year, as well as local and national celebrations such as street festivals and celebrations of independence. It was great that some students at each school described some of their own personal traditions and how they and they families mark and celebrate these festivals. There was an opportunity for students to respond to each other with comments and questions, which explored aspects of school life and culture.

On April ,5th we had the pleasure to take part in theVideoconference between Odessa Secondary Specialized School in Ukraine and ,Maria Ausiliatrice and I.C. Statale di Casale sul Sile both schools in Italy. The topic was Women’s and Girls’ Rights. Here are some reflections of the facilitstor: "Students shared some things about their communities as well as dialogued on some of the barriers facing women in their countries. An Italian student spoke about cultural barriers for women which influence the expectations societies have of women and girls while a student from Poland questioned whether the gender pay gap was a real thing. The discussion which unfolded after this as students challenges each other on the ideas surrounding what can be done to facilitate the equal treatment of men and women in society, and the empowerment of women. The idea that women could work two jobs to earn more money was countered by the notion that women, in their roles as mothers and child-carers, already work two jobs, for example. Students closed the vc with their reflections, with one student acknowledging that it was important to talk about women’s rights to gain awareness, new perspectives and insights".
