An association of teachers, artists & youth workers for the promotion of research on & practice of theatre, educational drama & other performing arts within formal & non formal education.
It organizes & runs training seminars for teachers & facilitators, the Athens International Theatre/Drama in Education Conference, the annual Theatre Summer Camp & projects in schools & with youth groups.

The experience of being engaged with youth theatre activities results in personal transformation, higher engagement in the social world and more positive social interactions.

The Mosaic Model for Youth Development through the Performing Arts Training created by the Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit empowers young people to develop their potential by participating in professional performing arts training (Gutierrez, Lorraine & Michael Spencer, 2008).

The involvement with the Mosaic Theatre seems to result in positive youth development, namely to performing arts skills, academic achievement, employability skills, development of positive self-image, higher self expectations, more ambitious goal setting, growth in the respect of diversity, the involvement with the community and positive social capital.

Η εμπειρία της ενασχόλησης με θεατρικές δραστηριότητες για νέους έχει ως αποτέλεσμα την προσωπική μεταμόρφωση, τη μεγαλύτερη εμπλοκή στον κοινωνικό κόσμο και τις θετικότερες κοινωνικές αλληλεπιδράσεις.

Το μοντέλο Mosaic Model for Youth Development through the Performing Arts Training που δημιουργήθηκε από το Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit δίνει τη δυνατότητα στους νέους να αναπτύξουν τις δυνατότητές τους συμμετέχοντας σε επαγγελματική εκπαίδευση στις παραστατικές τέχνες (Gutierrez, Lorraine & Michael Spencer, 2008).

Η ενασχόληση με το Mosaic Theatre φαίνεται να οδηγεί σε θετική ανάπτυξη των νέων, δηλαδή σε δεξιότητες παραστατικών τεχνών, ακαδημαϊκή επίδοση, δεξιότητες απασχολησιμότητας, ανάπτυξη θετικής αυτοεικόνας, υψηλότερες αυτοπροσδοκίες, πιο φιλόδοξη στοχοθεσία, ανάπτυξη στο σεβασμό της διαφορετικότητας, τη συμμετοχή στην κοινότητα και θετικό κοινωνικό κεφάλαιο.

Youth theatre describes the voluntary participation of young people in theatre related activities, which take place outside formal education settings, where young people participate in a wide range of activities:

- original creation & performance of plays with their peers,

- participation & organisation of workshops on creativity & skills for the diverse personal & social difficulties of the creative process in theatre,

- improvisation & experimentation with the different forms of theatre,

- participation in projects with theatre experts or youth services and

- study visits to youth events, festivals and theatres (Hughes & Wilson, 2004).

- συμμετοχή & οργάνωση εργαστηρίων δημιουργικότητας & δεξιοτήτων για τις ποικίλες προσωπικές & κοινωνικές δυσκολίες της δημιουργικής διαδικασίας στο θέατρο,

- αυτοσχεδιασμός & πειραματισμός με τις διάφορες μορφές θεάτρου,

- συμμετοχή σε προγράμματα με εμπειρογνώμονες του θεάτρου ή υπηρεσίες νεολαίας και

As our intellectual outputs are being developed, let's have a look at European Theatre Covnention's (ETC) publication "Youth Theatre: A casebook"!
A publication for the creative community of theatre professionals, presenting reflection and best-practice examples to make theatre with and for young people. The project, initiated by the ETC, gathered 9 European theatres from 5 countries, which created 9 new youth theatre productions. "Youth Theatre: A casebook" presents reflections and offers insights into the creation of a new European drama repertory for young audiences through the development of new texts, innovative formats and audience involvement.

Καθώς οι πνευματικές μας εκροές αναπτύσσονται, ας ρίξουμε μια ματιά στην έκδοση του European Theatre Covnention (ETC) «Youth Theatre: A casebook»!
Μια έκδοση για τη δημιουργική κοινότητα των επαγγελματιών του θεάτρου, η οποία παρουσιάζει προβληματισμούς και παραδείγματα βέλτιστων πρακτικών για τη δημιουργία θεάτρου με και για τους νέους. Το έργο, που ξεκίνησε από το ETC, συγκέντρωσε 9 ευρωπαϊκά θέατρα από 5 χώρες, τα οποία δημιούργησαν 9 νέες παραγωγές θεάτρου για νέους. «Youth Theatre: A casebook» παρουσιάζει προβληματισμούς και προσφέρει ιδέες για τη δημιουργία ενός νέου ευρωπαϊκού θεατρικού ρεπερτορίου για το νεανικό κοινό μέσω της ανάπτυξης νέων κειμένων, καινοτόμων μορφών και της συμμετοχής του κοινού.

2022 is the 𝑬𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉, with plenty of opportunities to learn, meet people and engage in activities all over Europe in a post-pandemic perspective.

The 𝑪𝒀𝑻 - 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝-𝟏𝟗 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕, sharing the same rationale, aims to empower young adolescents by using theatre as a tool to explore social issues. The CYT project also promotes the social engagement of an audience of young adolescents in the participating countries.

The performance was created in the framework of the Youth Theater project
Erasmus+ programme.

A throwback and looking forward post from the Cyclisis Team! This CYT Theater ride had been a bumpy one, having finished our rehearsals and initial filming since the 26th of December, almost everyone of us getting COVID shortly after, not being able to perform in front of an audience as we would have loved to, and traveling abroad in the many different areas of Europe ever since! But this bumpy ride is a long one and an other stop is ahead! Tomorrow we will have the pleasure to have a zoom performance with our peers, friends and colleagues to discuss upon our recorded sessions from the winter! That's not the end of the journey, though, as we will be presenting our play in numerous other occasions once the summer comes and we will be keeping you posted!
