**Concept of frequency wavelength and speed in water waves**

Q1) When waves change speed ?

Waves change speed when they pass across the boundary between two different substances/medium.

Q2) When water waves refract ?

Water waves refract when they travel from deep water to shallow water (or vice versa).

Q3) Why the wave speed increases in deep water and decrease in shallow water?

As a wave enters deeper water the height and potential energy decrease. Therefore the speed of the wave must increase to conserve the law of energy. The high Potential energy converts to high kinetic energy.But as waves enter shallow water wave height increases ,Wave speed decreases to conserve law of energy and wavelength shortens.

Q4) On what factors speed of a wave depends?

Speed of wave = 3.1 * square root(depth in meters) that's why Waves travel faster in deeper water and slow in shallow water.The deeper the water, the faster the waves travel.

Q5) why the wavelength of waves is greater in deep water?

Higher the speed higher the wavelength keeping frequency constant. A wave with a longer wavelength travels at higher speed. In contrast to shallow-water waves.

1) کب لہریں رفتار کو تبدیل کرتی ہیں؟
لہریں رفتار کو تبدیل کرتی ہیں جب وہ دو مختلف مادوں کے درمیان حد سے گزر جاتی ہیں۔

2) کب پانی کی لہریں refract ہوتی ہیں؟

پانی کی لہریں اس وقت ریفریکٹ ہوتی ہیں جب وہ گہرے پانی سے کم پانی (یا اس کے برعکس) سفر کرتی ہیں۔

3) گہرے پانی میں لہر کی رفتار کیوں بڑھتی ہے اور کم پانی میں کمی کیوں؟

جیسے جیسے ایک لہر گہرے پانی میں داخل ہوتی ہے اونچائی اور ممکنہ توانائیpotenial energy میں کمی واقع ہوتی ہے۔ لہٰذا توانائی کے قانون کو بچانے کے لیے لہر کی رفتار میں اضافہ ہونا چاہیے۔ ہائی پوٹینشل انرجی ہائی کائنیٹک انرجی میں بدل جاتی ہے لیکن جیسے جیسے لہریں کم پانی کی لہر میں داخل ہوتی ہیں اونچائی میں اضافہ ہوتا ہے ، لہر کی رفتار کم ہوتی ہے تاکہ توانائی کا قانون محفوظ رہے

4) لہر کی رفتار کن عوامل پر منحصر ہے؟

لہر کی رفتار = 3.1 * under root (لہر کی گہرائی) ۔
اسی لیے لہریں گہرے پانی میں تیز سفر کرتی ہیں اور کم پانی میں سست ہوتی ہیں۔

5) گہرے پانی میں لہروں کی Wavelength زیادہ کیوں ہوتی ہے؟
جتنی زیادہ تیز رفتار لہر اتنی زیادہ wavelength frequency, تبدیل نہیں ہونی چاہیے۔ لمبی wavelength والی لہر تیز رفتاری سے سفر کرتی ہے اور چھوٹی wavelength والی سست رفتار ہوتی ہیں۔
