Department of English, University of Wah organized a lecture titled, โWriting-as Agency for Womenโ on 30 December, 2022. This was the second lecture of the series, โInto Gender Skinโ. Dr. Sibghat Ullah Khan from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad was the Guest Speaker. He presented a detailed account of writing as a source of power for women. Prof. Dr. Nazir Hussain, Dean Social Sciences and Humanities presented the shield to the Guest Speaker. Ms. Nosheen Rana Acting/ Chairperson, Department of English profoundly thanked Dr. Sibghat Ullah Khan for offering an insightful lecture. The session ended with an interactive Q & A session.

Department of English, University of Wah organized a Webinar titled, โFacing Patriarchy: From a Violent Gender Order to a Culture of Peaceโ on 16 December, 2022. The Webinar was the first session of the Lecture Series, โInto Gender Skinโ. Prof. Dr. Bop Pease from University of Tasmania, Australia was the Keynote Speaker. He highlighted the need to uphold the consciousness for the nuances of patriarchy. He encouraged to foster less toxic masculinity without necessarily men relinquishing their privileges. Ms. Nosheen Rana Acting/ Chairperson, Department of English, emphasized to rethink on gender issues that serve as a catalyst to define the positioning of gender in any society. A large number of students attended the webinar. The session ended with an interactive Q & A session.

The Department of English, University of Wah, Wah Cannt hosted a โWelcome Partyโ for the freshers at SAS Marquee on 1st Dec, 2022. The event provided maximum recreation through studentsโ performances. Faculty & students enthusiastically participated in the memorable event.

Democracy is road to socialism.
Department of English, University of Wah has successfully conducted fair elections to elect upcoming 2023-24 Cabinet on 18 October, 2023. The former Cabinet is sacked and replaced by the new one. The elections were held fairly with full zeal and zest. Everybody participated in the eminent event of Cabinet shifting. Several devoted candidates competed for the seat of Departmental President, Departmental Secretary, General Secretary literary and debating society, Vice President literary and debating club and Assistant Secretary literary and debating society. We wholeheartedly believe that the new cabinet will retain the dignity and legacy of Department of English and entice our new generation towards kindness and prosperity.
