AU Subclass 482 Short-Term visa holders have access to PR

From 1 July 2022, specified subclass 482 visa holders in the short-term stream and subclass 457 visa holders will have access to permanent residency under the Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream of Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa.

Subclass 482 visa holders in Short-term stream, who were in Australia for at least 12 months between 1 February 2020 and 14 December 2021 and are employed by an Australian business, will have the pathway to permanent residency.

Persons who, on 18 April 2017, held a 457 visa or has applied for a 457 visa that was subsequently granted, can apply for permanent resident visa.

This new legislative instrument provides that these specified 482 visa holders in short-term stream and 457 visa holders do not need to have an occupation on the Medium & Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
