🌟4-Days International School on Algebraic Geometry🌟

The President of the Mathematical Society of COMSATS Vehari (MSCV), along with his teachers, had the privilege of attending the 4-Days International School on Algebraic Geometry, held from 18–21 November 2025 at the ASSMS, GC University Lahore.

The theme of the school was:
“New Trends in Computational Algebraic Geometry and Its Applications.”

Over these four days, the opportunity to learn from distinguished international scholars:

Prof. Gerhard Pfister – Germany
Prof. Ignacio Luengo Velasco – Spain
Prof. Sheng Bau – South Africa

It was a proud moment to attend the school with his teachers, Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi and Dr. Nasir Ali, and Alumni Faheem Abbas gaining invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout the sessions.

The closing ceremony of Student Week Fall 2025 was a spectacular celebration of talent, energy, and sportsmanship, and the Department of Mathematics truly stood out!

Our students actively participated in every activity, both indoor and outdoor, and brought home numerous shields, trophies, and certificates. Highlights include:

🎨 1st Position – Painting Competition (organized by Character Building Society)
🎤 2nd Position – Open Mic Music Competition (organized by Calligraphy & Fine Arts Society)

🎯 Many other wins and runner-up positions in various games

The Head of the Department appreciated all students for their active participation and congratulated the MSCV team for their excellent management and coordination of the department’s student teams.

Alhamdulillah, the Department of Mathematics not only showcased talent but also teamwork, dedication, and spirit throughout the week!

This Sunday, November 16, 2025, Muhammad Ahmad Hashmat, Former President of MSCV, will be hosting an informal webinar on MS Teams.

The session is arranged for students interested in applying for the InterMaths Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Scholarship.
As a current Erasmus scholar, he will share valuable insights, experiences, and guidance to help students understand the application process and strengthen their applications.

✨ Day 2 Highlights – Students’ Week Fall 2025 | Department of Mathematics ✨

On Day 2 of Students’ Week 2025 at COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus, the Department of Mathematics, organized by the MSCV Team, hosted its Departmental Cultural Stall, showcasing a variety of items representing our rich culture, heritage, and creativity. The stall attracted attention from both students and faculty, and several teachers visited, appreciating the students’ efforts, teamwork, and innovative display.

Adding to the cultural spirit, our students also actively participated in Jhummar, highlighting a vibrant part of our traditional culture and bringing energy and color to the celebrations.
