The Chief Guest of the event will be none other than our very own Dr Peter H. Armacost, the first Rector of FCCU. He is especially coming to join us in the Alumni celebrations. Along with that, the performer of the evening will be our very own super marvellous, Abrar Ul Haq.

As some of us are aware, Dr. James Tebbe is going to retire after the completion of a decade of outstanding service as the Rector of Forman Christian College (A Chartered University).
We invite you to convey your appreciation for Dr Tebbeās many years of dedicated service by generously contributing to the āJames A. Tebbe Endowment Fundā. This endowment fund has been initiated to honor Dr. James Tebbeās spirit of service and commitment, and especially his passion for raising funds for student scholarships. Throughout his tenure, the Rector has played an integral role in securing funds for various campaigns, projects and scholarships and there can be no better way to convey our appreciation for his leadership than to contribute to a lasting legacy which increases the financial resources available to support disadvantaged students.

Dr Anwar Naseem is a prominent alumnus of Forman Christian College (A Chartered University). He was born in a village near Pasrur in Sialkot District of Pakistan. He got his early education from Sialkot. He studied at FCCU year 1951-1953. Dr Anwar started his career as a lecturer in Govt. College, Multan and then Government College, Lahore. In 1962 he got a scholarship and went to Glasgow, Scotland. In 1966 he got a PhD in Biochemical Genetics from University of Edinburgh. From 1966 to 1973 he was a Research Officer in Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. From 1973 to 1989 he served as a Senior Research Officer in National Research Council of Canada. During this period, he passed a Sabbatical year (1978ā79) at Max Planck Institute, Tübingen, Germany, and the Biology Department of Stanford University. From 1983 to 1989 he taught as Adjunct Professor in Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Ottawa and from 1984 to 1989 as Adjunct Professor in Department of Biology Carleton University, Ottawa. From 1989 to 1993 he worked as Principal Scientist and Head, Molecular Genetics Group, Biology and Medical Research Department, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He worked at the Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology (NIAB), Faisalabad in 1981 and at Center for Advanced Molecular Biology, Punjab University, Lahore in 1985. He was also a member of the teaching faculty of the UNESCO Regional Training Course on gene cloning held in Singapore in 1983.
In 1978 he became a chairman of the organizing committee for the International Symposium on DNA repair, Mutation and Human III Health held in Ottawa, Canada. He was also international Coordinator and Member of the Executive Committee for the XVI International Congress of Genetics, Toronto, Canada held in 1988.
Dr Anwar published more than one hundred scientific papers in prestigious international journals worldwide since 1965. He won several awards, worldwide for his great contribution in the field of science.
He was awarded the Distinguished Formanite Award in 2013 by Forman Christian College for his illustrious career. We thank him for all his efforts in the field of molecular genetics as a renowned scientist.

Mr Muhammad Khan Achakzai is one of the most distinguished alumni of Forman Christian College (A Chartered University). He studied at Forman Christian College from 1959-1963. He received a Gold medal in Bachelors from Forman Christian College. After graduation, he earned a degree in MS (Economics) from Strathclyde University Scotland; he did his MPA from Harvard University USA and an MS in Strategic Studies from National Defense College. He has also rendered his services in the Planning Commission of Pakistan. He is a well-known politician of Pakistan and he has served in the government of Pakistan at different levels. He hails from the prominent Achakzai political family of Baluchistan and he served as the 23rd Governor of Baluchistan.
Mr Muhammad Khan Achakzai was awarded the Distinguished Formanite Award in 2016 by Forman Christian College for his illustrious career. FCCU has also had the privilege of hosting him at his alma mater in 2017 and a special event was held in appreciation of his generosity. He was able to visit Griswold Hall where he had been a resident in his student days. Mr Achakzai has been instrumental in instituting an endowment fund at FCCU for financially disadvantaged students from Baluchistan. He is a proud Formanite who has displayed FCCU's motto 'By love, serve one another' through his generous support for his alma mater. We thank him for his service to this country as a politician and as Governor of Baluchistan.

Mr Yusuf H Shirazi is counted among some of the most distinguished alumni of Forman Christian College (A Chartered University). He studied at Forman Christian College from 1946-1948. Mr Shirazi was the Chairman of Atlas Group and he served as the President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for two terms. He has also been the Founding Member of the Karachi Stock Exchange, Lahore Stock Exchange and International Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was on the Board of Harvard Business School Alumni Association and was also the Founder President of Harvard Club of Pakistan and Harvard Business School Club of Pakistan. He was awarded with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz and the Sitara-e-Eisaar by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of his meritorious contribution to his country.
He was awarded the Distinguished Formanite Award in 2007 by his alma mater for an illustrious career. He was a diligent member of the Board of Governors of Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) for many years. Mr. Shirazi generously contributed to his alma mater and set up an Atlas Foundation Endowment to help support needy and deserving students at FCCU. The Shirazi Hall at FCCU is named after him. Mr. Yusuf H Shirazi passed away on October 20, 2019. He will always be remembered as a philanthropist and businessman par excellence.
