🇵🇰 Independence Day Celebrated at Sindh Agriculture University Campus Umerkot 🇵🇰
Sindh Agriculture University Campus Umerkot celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan on 14th August 2026 with patriotic spirit, enthusiasm, and a renewed commitment to the country’s progress and prosperity.
The ceremony began with flag hoisting, recitation of the Holy Quran, the National Anthem, and prayers for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.
In his address, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Hassan Shah emphasized that the future of Pakistan depends on education, hard work, honesty, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility. He also paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for defending the nation and appreciated teachers and administrative staff for their dedicated service to students and the institution.
Among the guest speakers, social activist Dr. Kunpo Chohan and Engr. Suresh Kumar Piragani, representative of SAMI Foundation, addressed the audience. Campus staff members Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Khanzada, Dr. Vishan Das Suthar, Mr. M. Saleem Chang, and Mr. M. Saleem Junejo also shared their views.
The celebrations included tree plantation, jointly organized by SAU Campus and SAMI Foundation, symbolizing the commitment to a greener and healthier Pakistan. Sweets and national flag badges were also distributed among the participants.
Later, following the conclusion of the central Independence Day ceremony at Jinnah Park, Assistant Commissioner Taluka Umerkot Mr. Rajab Ali Sathio, along with ADC-II and the Mukhtiarkar, visited SAU Campus Umerkot. They participated in tree plantation, offered prayers, and extended their best wishes for the continued progress of the Campus. They also visited the under-construction hydroponics greenhouse and met members of the TIKA team present there. The visiting officers appreciated the overall development efforts and the leadership role of Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Hassan Shah and his team, particularly acknowledging Mr. M. Saleem Chang’s efforts in successfully securing this important project for the region.
In the end, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Hassan Shah thanked all the guests and participants, especially the Campus employees, for their wholehearted participation and active engagement in the national event. 🇵🇰
