HEC has decided to abolish 2 year BA/BSc and MA/MSc degree programs from 2018 and 2020 respectively. HEC has made policy that all government and private institutions will offer 4 year Graduation and Masters degree programs. The decision has been taken to bring an improvement in quality of education in Pakistan..

Professor Dr. Arif Zaman. Pakistani mathematician, analyst, theorist, researcher, academian and scientist currently serving as the professor of statistics and mathematics at LUMS, Lahore.

His academic qualification:

B.S in Mathematics (1976) from Harvey Mudd College, USA.
M.A in Mathematics (1977) from Stanford University, USA.
PhD in Mathematics (1981) from Stanford University, USA.

His doctoral (PhD) was based on De Finetti's theorem and its possible turn out in Markov chain. His dissertation was supervised by renowned mathematician, Persi Diaconis.

His publications have been in various journals including: The Annals of Probability, Mathematics of Computation, Journal of Applied Probability, and Journal of Statistical Computation.
