Dr. Bilal Wadood, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, , participated in the International Workshop on "Anthropocene" held at the Ramada Hotel, Islamabad from 13–16 August 2026.

The workshop was organized by the University of Vienna, Austria under the UNESCO IGCP 732 Project titled "Language of the Anthropocene" with Prof. Dr. Michael Wagreich serving as Lead Investigator.

🇵🇰 Celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day at the University of Swabi — 14th August 2026

The University of Swabi celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day with immense national spirit, enthusiasm, and patriotic zeal.

The celebrations featured a flag-hoisting ceremony, cake-cutting ceremony, student speeches and debates, patriotic performances and tableaux by Al-Falah School students, and inspiring messages highlighting the sacrifices of our Shuhada, Pakistan Armed Forces, and those serving the nation.

The Vice Chancellor, University of Swabi, Prof. Dr. Mian Sayed Khan, congratulated the entire university community and emphasized the vital role of education, research, discipline, hard work, and responsible citizenship in building a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan.

The occasion also witnessed appreciation for Pakistan–Türkiye–Saudi Arabia defence cooperation, reflecting the spirit of brotherhood and mutual support among the three countries.

The event concluded with the distribution of shields and certificates among members of various university societies and the Proctorial Board in recognition of their contributions and services.

May Pakistan continue to progress, prosper, and rise. 🇵🇰

Glimpses of the 7th Board of Faculty (BoF) of Arts & Social Sciences Meeting – University of Swabi

The 7th meeting of the Board of Faculty (BoF) of Arts & Social Sciences at the was held on August 6, 2026, under the chairmanship of Prof. Muhammad Naseemullah Qureshi.
The meeting was attended by nominees of the Academic Council along with nominees of the respective Boards of Studies.
Prof. Hidayat Ullah, serving as Director Academics, performed the role of Secretary of the meeting.
The agenda covered a wide range of disciplines, including Management Sciences, English, Education, Economics, Islamic & Arabic Studies, Political Science & IR. Additionally, the board considered a number of notifications and directives of the HEC.
The meeting concluded with consensus-driven recommendations aimed at strengthening academic programs and aligning them with Higher Education Commission UGE-2024 and GEP-2024 policies.

Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the University of Swabi and ANSI Institute of Management Sciences, Mardan
The University of Swabi has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ANSI Institute of Management Sciences, Mardan. The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Mian Sayed Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Swabi, and Mr. Muhammad Naseer Afridi, Director Campus, ANSI Institute of Management Sciences, Mardan, in the presence of Mr. Waqar Ahmad, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed and Dr. Ruidar Ali Shah Director ORIC University of Swabi.
This strategic partnership aims to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions through joint research initiatives, internship opportunities, faculty and student exchange, organizing seminars, workshops, conferences and the sharing of academic expertise and research resources. The University of Swabi remains committed to developing meaningful national and international partnerships that promote research excellence, innovation and quality higher education while creating valuable opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members.

The Department of Political Science and International Relations, , conducted
its 6th Board of Studies meeting chaired by Dean of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr Muhammad Nasimullah Qureshi. The Board recommended curricula for BS and AD programmes in Political Science for onward approval.
