Summer Gala 2026 – GECE (W) Sukkur
Date of Event: May 19, 2026
Location: GECE (W) Sukkur Campus Grounds
Timing: 10:00 AM Onwards

The 2026 Summer Gala at GECE (W) Sukkur was a resounding success, successfully bringing together students, faculty, and local residents for a vibrant day of food, fashion, and community engagement. The event served as an excellent platform for student entrepreneurs to showcase their culinary and creative talents, fostering a lively atmosphere that celebrated local Sindhi culture alongside modern student life.

The opening ceremony was inaugurated by worthy principal Prof.Habibullah Thaheem .
The stall area was the central hub of activity throughout the day. The strategic pairing of diverse menu items proved highly effective.

The marketing campaign and on-ground tactics played a massive role in the event's high turnout:
The bright, cohesive pamphlet designs and clear pricing signage allowed smooth communication and managed crowd expectations effortlessly.

Introducing a gamified lucky draw system for every purchase created a distinct "buzz." The anticipation of winning instant treats or grand prizes kept crowds gathered around the student-led stalls, sustaining high energy levels until the mid-afternoon drawing.

The integration of refreshing juice bars (like Citrus Splash and Tropical Twist) alongside beautifully curated jewelry stalls (Sindhi Artistry, Gems & Gold) ensured that attendees stayed on campus longer, circulating traffic across all setups.

Hydration is Crucial: Given the May weather in Sukkur, the heavy demand for juices and mocktails highlighted the necessity of expanding drink stations in future summer iterations.

The Summer Gala 2026 achieved its core goals of providing a vibrant break from academic routines, teaching practical business skills to participating students, and building a strong sense of community on campus. The layout, marketing, and food ex*****on set a high benchmark for future institutional events at GECE (W) Sukkur.

Online classes at Government Elementary College of Education (Women), Sukkur are continuing in full swing, ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted academic progress of students despite the prevailing austerity measures introduced by the Government of Sindh.

In this regard, the students of Semester III enrolled in the subject Teaching of Science actively participated in an online learning session conducted by Lecturer Muhammad Aashib. During the class, students explored important scientific concepts including the rock cycle, the theory of plate tectonics, and related foundational topics that deepen their understanding of Earth sciences and effective science teaching.

Such online academic engagement reflects the college’s strong commitment to maintaining teaching and learning standards through alternative modes of instruction, while also instilling adaptability, continuity, and academic discipline among future educators.

The college remains dedicated to providing quality education and ensuring that learning continues effectively in every circumstance.

Students of B.Ed. (Hons) Semester VIII at Government Elementary College of Education (Women), Sukkur actively engaged in a presentation on “Development of School Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)” presented by Ms. Fazeela Baloch under the guidance of Ms. Fouzia Memon, Associate Professor.

The session encouraged prospective teachers to shift their perspective from being only classroom practitioners to becoming institutional thinkers and future school leaders.

The learning framework was structured around Four Key Pillars of School Effectiveness:
Academics: Understanding how to measure real learning growth rather than relying solely on examination grades.
Engagement: Recognizing attendance and retention as indicators of a healthy and supportive school culture.
Teaching: Emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development (CPD) for teacher growth and school improvement.
Operations: Evaluating parental trust, community involvement, and efficient use of school resources.

Such academic activities help future teachers develop a holistic understanding of school management, educational leadership, and data-driven decision making.

As part of the Functional English–3 course, Aliza, a B.Ed. (Hons) student at Government Elementary College for Women, Sukkur, completed a presentation task assigned by Ma’am Seema Memon. The task required students to create a PowerPoint presentation with voice-over narration.

Initially, Aliza felt confused as she had never created a presentation with voice before. However, by practicing independently, she successfully learned how to design and record her presentation.

Through this activity, she gained valuable skills such as using technology in education, creating multimedia presentations, and understanding the role of formative assessment in supporting students’ learning step by step. The experience not only helped her develop new digital skills but also increased her confidence and motivation to continue learning new tools for teaching and learning in the future.

As part of the Functional English–3 course, Saira Amjad Ali Soomro, a Semester V B.Ed. (Hons) student at Government Elementary College of Education (Women), Sukkur, presented on the topic “The Importance of Observation Skills.” The presentation was assigned by Ma’am Seema Memon.

In her presentation, Saira explained how observation skills help teachers and students better understand learning processes, student behaviour, and classroom situations. She highlighted that although observation is a simple concept, it plays a very important role in teaching, learning, and everyday life.

During this course, students also learned about effective presentation skills and Monroe’s Motivated Sequence, a method for organizing presentations into five steps: Attention, Need, Satisfaction, Visualization, and Action. This approach helped make the presentation clear, structured, and engaging.
