🎓 Alumni Achievement: Engr. Mohammad Adeel Secures Fully Funded PhD Scholarship in Saudi Arabia.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Sukkur IBA University is delighted to celebrate our alumnus, Engr. Mohammad Adeel (BE '23, ME '26), on beginning his doctoral journey!

Adeel has officially commenced his PhD in Electrical Engineering at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU), supported by a prestigious, fully funded scholarship from the Government of Saudi Arabia.
During his tenure at Sukkur IBA University, Adeel demonstrated exceptional academic rigor and leadership:

* Graduated as a Bronze Medalist (3rd Position).

* Completed ME thesis research on joint placement and energy optimization in wind-affected UAV relay networks.

* Secured Sindh Educational Foundation Scholarship in Bachelors.

* Secured Sindh Talent Hunt Program Scholarship 2019 at the Sukkur IBA University.

* Served as Chairperson of the IEEE Student Branch Sukkur IBA University and Coordinator for the Engineering Society.

* Won national project funding (NGIRI & PEC) for innovative work in flexible wearable electronics.

* Earned credentials as a PEC-registered engineer and IBM-certified AI Engineer.

𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐁𝐨𝐒) 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 – 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Department of Electrical Engineering successfully conducted its 12th Board of Studies (BoS) Meeting on 1 September 2026. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sharjeel Afridi, Head of the Department, and was attended by distinguished internal and external members.

The meeting featured comprehensive discussions on key academic matters, with valuable insights and recommendations shared by the members to further enhance the department’s academic program, curriculum, and educational practices. The deliberations focused on ensuring academic quality and keeping the curriculum aligned with evolving industry needs and contemporary academic standards.

The meeting was further enriched by the participation of esteemed external members, including 𝑫𝒓. 𝑨𝒃𝒅𝒖𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑨𝒃𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒊, 𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒖𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒇 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒕 𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑶𝑷𝑬, 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊 (Online), 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒓. 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒇𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝑨. 🎓 Sukkur IBA University Alumnus Begins Fully Funded PhD in Australia

Sukkur IBA University is pleased to share the achievement of its alumnus Arif Hussain, a graduate of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, who has commenced his PhD at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, on a fully funded scholarship from the Australian Government under the International Research Training Program (IRTP).

Arif completed his BE in Electrical Engineering as a Silver Medalist under the Sindh Talent Hunt Program (STHP) Batch 13 and later earned his ME in Electrical Engineering as a Gold Medalist through an Institutional Merit Scholarship (2018–20).

At UTS, he will undertake interdisciplinary research using AI and low-cost sensing technologies to address climate change and environmental degradation, with potential applications in environmental sustainability, public health, and policy. His research will involve collaboration with experts from the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Institute for Sustainable Futures.

Hailing from Bagarji, a village in rural Sindh, Arif’s academic journey reflects the opportunities that education, perseverance, and mentorship can create.

Reflecting on his journey, Arif acknowledged the role of Sukkur IBA University and the Department of Electrical Engineering in providing him with the “knowledge, skills, confidence, and courage to dream beyond his circumstances.”

Sukkur IBA University congratulates Arif Hussain on this significant milestone and wishes him success in his research journey ahead.

🌸 An Inspiring Session for Our Female Engineering Students 🌸

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Sukkur IBA University, successfully conducted an interactive one-hour session exclusively for our female students with Engr. Irsa Jan, a Gold Medalist and accomplished Electrical Engineering graduate of SIBAU.

The session commenced with a warm welcome note by Dr. Sharjeel, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, who welcomed Engr. Irsa and the students to this insightful session.

Currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Europe under the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Program, Engr. Irsa shared valuable insights from her academic journey, international exposure, scholarship experience, and professional growth.
The session provided our female students with an opportunity to interact, ask questions, and learn from the journey of a successful alumna who is making her mark at the international level.

We sincerely appreciate Engr. Irsa Jan for taking the time to connect with our students, share her experiences, and inspire them to dream bigger, explore opportunities, and believe in their potential.

The session concluded with remarks by Ms. Kainat Soomro, OBE Coordinator, who highlighted the importance of PEC accreditation for Electrical Engineering graduates and briefed the students about the facilities and support available for female students in the Department of Electrical Engineering
