The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the Imran Idrees Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (IIIRS) successfully conducted a formal session for the research synopsis defense of the students enrolled in the BS Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program on May 06, 2026 in Board Room, IICP.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sana Iqbal (Chairperson IRB & Vice Principal), with the presence of key committee members including:
• Mr. Muhammad Wajid Munir (HOD, Operation Theatre Technology)
• Mr. Muhammad Abdul Hannan (HOD, Radiography and Imaging Technology)
• Ms. Esha Nawal (Lecturer/Coordinator)
• Mr. Ahtasham Ahmad (Lecturer, Medical Laboratory Technology)
• Mr. Muhammad Adeel (Lecturer, Medical Laboratory Technology)
Key Highlights of the Session:
Students of the BS Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program presented research proposals focusing on major areas of clinical diagnostics, laboratory investigation and disease biomarkers.
The research projects demonstrated the students’ commitment to advancing laboratory diagnostics, biomarker-based disease assessment, and evidence-based clinical research in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology.
The IRB committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of each research proposal and provided valuable recommendations to ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and scientific research standards. The overall quality of the synopses was appreciated, while minor methodological improvements were suggested to enhance the reliability and validity of the studies.
The successful defense of these synopses represents an important academic achievement for our MLT students, strengthening the integration of laboratory diagnostics with evidence-based research. We remain dedicated to promoting innovation, scientific inquiry and excellence in healthcare education.

Ms. Sadia Azam (Senior Lecturer)
Ms. Esha Nawal (Lecturer/Coordinator)

Students presented their research proposals covering critical areas of surgical safety and clinical management.
