Why did the mother of Abu Hurairah (R) accept Islam?
Because of the waseelah and du'a of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
(Saheeh Muslim):

"I came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) weeping and said: Allah's Messenger, I invited my mother to Islam but she did not accept. I invited her today but she said to me something which I did not like. (Kindly) supplicate Allah that He may guide the mother of Abu Huraira. So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: O Allah, set the mother of Abu Huraira on the right path.

I came out pleased with the supplication of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and when I came near the door it was closed from within. My mother heard the noise of my footsteps and she said: Abu Huraira, just wait. I heard the noise of falling of water. She took a bath and put on a shirt and quickly covered her head and opened the door and said: Abu Huraira, I bear witness to the fact that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad ﷺ is His bondsman and His Messenger. "

SubhaanAllah.
So quick was the action of the du'a.
So quick was the waseela of our beloved (ﷺ) accepted
Our beloved ﷺ never said, 'Go to Allah directly!' did he?
In fact, his blessed du'a arrived at the house of Abu Huraira's mother before Abu Hurairah arrived!

وَلاَ تَقُولُواْ لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ فِى سَبيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَاتٌ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ وَلـٰكِن لاَّ تَشْعُرُونَ
"And don't say those who are killed in Allah's path are dead. They are definitely alive but you don't understand." (HQ 2:154)14th Shawwal marks the day of the battle of Uhud and the martyrdom of the lion of Allah Sayyidunā Hamza and 70 noble companions رضي الله عنهم of the Messenger of Allah صلى عليه وسلم.

A battle in which the Messenger of Allah صلى عليه وسلم lost one of his blessed teeth and was bleeding from their blessed forehead but still prayed for the guidance of the enemy.

A battle where companions such as Sayyidunā Talha, Sayyidunā Abu Dujana, Sayyidunā Shamas b. Uthman, Sayyidunā Mus'ab b. Umair and others رضي الله عنهم forged their legacies.

A battle in which a woman from the Ansar lost her husband, father, son and brother but was only concerned with how the Messenger of Allah صلى عليه وسلم was and said, كل مصيبة بعدك جلل.

May Allah the rank of all the martyrs of Uhud and unite the Ummah through the virtues and excellence of their sacrifices. Al-Fatihah!

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF EID - Unas (ra) reported that when the Prophet Muhammad (saw) migrated from Makkah to Madinah, the people of Madinah used to have two festivals. On those two days they had carnivals and festivity. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) asked the Ansaar (the Muslims of Madinah) about it. They replied that before Islam they used to have carnivals on those two joyous days. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) told them: 'Instead of those two days, Allah has appointed two other days which are better, the days of Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha.' (Hadith)

EID-AL-FITR is celebrated on the first day of Shaw'waal, at the completion of Ramadan. Shaw'waal is the 10th month of the Islamic calendar. The Eid-al-Fitr is a very joyous day; it is a true Thanks giving Day for the believing men and women. On this day Muslims show their real joy for the health, strength and the opportunities of life, which Allah has given to them to fulfill their obligation of fasting and other good deeds during the blessed month of Ramadan.

THE SUNNAH OF EID:

1. Wake up early.

2. Offer Salatul Fajr.

3. Prepare for personal cleanliness take care of details of clothing, etc.

4. Take a Ghusl (bath) after Fajr.

5. Brush your teeth.

6. Dress up, putting on best clothes available, whether new or cleaned old ones.

6. Use perfume (men only).

7. Have breakfast on Eid-al-Fitr before leaving for prayer ground.

8. Pay Zakaat-al-Fitr before Salaat-al-Eid (on Eid-al-Fitr).

9. Go to prayer ground early.

10. Offer Salaat-al-Eid in congregation in an open place except when whether is not permitting like rain, snow, etc.

11. Use two separate routes to and from the prayer ground.

At the conclusion of the Salaat the Muslims should convey greetings to each other, give reasonable gifts to the youngsters and visit each other at their homes. Muslims should also take this opportunity to invite their non-Muslims neighbors, co-workers, classmates and business acquaintances to Eid festivities to expose them to Islam and Muslim .

The blessed door of Rayyaan:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “In Paradise there is a gate called Rayyaan. On the Day of Resurrection it will be called: ‘Where are those who fasted?’ Those who used to fast will enter it, and whoever enters it will never thirst again.”
عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ بَابًا يُقَالُ لَهُ الرَّيَّانُ يُدْعَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ أَيْنَ الصَّائِمُونَ فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنَ الصَّائِمِينَ دَخَلَهُ وَمَنْ دَخَلَهُ لَمْ يَظْمَأْ أَبَدًا ‏"‏ ‏
