🥀یہ بات ہے اُن دنوں کی کہ جن دنوں کچھ عجب ہی نظارے تھے
وہ ہوئے تو اَزل سے ہی نہیں ہمارے پھر بھی ہمیں جان سے پیارے تھے

🥀اُن کی آنکھوں میں ڈوب جاتے اکثر کئی ویسے عاشق مزاج لوگ
اور جو تھے ہِجروصال کےپُرستارانہیں وہ لگتے ہی بیچارے تھے

🥀رگِ جاں سے جو ہوئے واقف تو چھڑانے لگے دامن اپنا
وہ جن کو ہم اب تک سمجھتے رہے عمر بھر کے سہارے تھے

🥀وہ جفا کے پیکرِ عشق تھا، جو چرایا تھا ظلمتوں سے ہم نے
سرِ بازار جب بکا تو سمجھے یہاں رہنے سے تو بہتر کنارے تھے

🥀شامیں تو منتظر ہی رہیں خوشیاں لوٹانے کی ہمیں ،لیکن
یہ اُداسیوں میں لپٹی ہوئی راتیں ہمارے فنا ہونے کے مُبہم اشارے تھے

🥀اور عین ممکن تھا کہ اگر ہمارے بخت میں، لفظوں کی سیاہی نہ ہوتی
تو ہم بھی چراغ فروزاں ہوتے جیسے اُن کے آنگن میں وہ چمکتے ستارے تھے
