◻️Carl Friedrich Gauss

Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777-1855) was a German mathematician and physicist who is considered one of the greatest mathematicians of all time. He made significant contributions to various fields, including:

- Number Theory: congruences, prime numbers, Fermat's Last Theorem
- Algebra: quadratic forms, Gaussian integers
- Geometry: differential geometry, curvature
- Statistics: method of least squares
- Astronomy: orbit calculations

Notable works:

- "Disquisitiones Arithmeticae" (1801)
- "General Investigations of Curved Surfaces" (1827)

Awards:

- Copley Medal (1838)
- Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (1842)
