INTRODUCTION:
The Department of Forestry was established in 2005 at Campus II of the University of Malakand. Now it is the regular Department of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal. Sheringal is one of the most beautiful valley resorts, with dense forests of conifers and oak, tall mountains and a pleasant climate. The valley runs into a dense forest of Kumrat, Jandrai, Thal, etc. with tall
and oldest trees of Abies, Cedrus, Oak, Pinus Taxus, betula and Top Juniperus. The valley also comprises important watersheds and the source of the River Punjkora. The valley provides habitat for a range of wildlife species. The Department has prepared a comprehensive scheme of studies for academic programs at the BS (Hons.) Since the establishment of the department, more than 100 students have successfully graduated in BS (Hons.) The Department has currently enrolled 100 undergraduate students. OBJECTIVES:
1) To impart higher education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the fields of Forestry and Range Management, Watershed and Wildlife Management.
2) To develop closer linkages with line departments and research organizations for mutual collaboration in research/development activities of natural resource management and conservation.
3) To promote awareness among students, researchers, policymakers and the community in general about natural resource conservation and management through publishing articles and organizing seminars/workshops on the subjects related to natural resource management.
4) To educate the students about forest environmental services and their role in climate change mitigation.
5) Finally to produce trained graduates for various Governmental and non-Governmental organizations working on forest and related issues. Range Forest officer

Eligibility Criteria For Admission:
Fsc (Pre-medical and Engineering) with at least 45% marks
