Salik Public School and Degree College Shagram Chitral The Salik Schools System operates to the north of Chitral, KPK, Pakistan. It was founded by Mohammad Salahuddin Salik in 1994

Some years ago, Mohammad Salahuddin Salik returned from England after doing his second Masters from The University of Reading. On reaching his home town Chitral, he was deeply depressed by the education system over there. Chitral is a city towards the extreme north of Pakistan. It is walled on all sides by different mountain ranges. it is the gateway between the CARS and Pakistan. Due to Chitral's

harsh climate, it is struck off from all road contact from Pakistan during the winters. It is a 14 hour minimum drive from the capital, Islamabad. Until 3 decades ago Chitral remained highly influenced by monarchy and even today their off springs are regarded as princes. In this Intro when i refer to his hometown, I actually mean his village which is another 5 hour drive from Chitral. Salahuddin remained inspired by the British Education System as during his stay there he had visited a lot of British schools including the prestigious Eton College. At that time he decided to take a step. So, finally in the year 1994 he for the first time set up a Public School Chain in Chitral. His First three branches were in Shahgram, Khot and Shoghor. Salahuddin at that time used his links abroad and contacted several British teachers. They came all the way from England to the edge of the Hindukush to teach in these schools. Until 2008 the fee structure of the schools remained so low that Salahuddin had to pay from his pocket. All the building expenses and Land were also donated by Mohammad Salahuddin himself. All orphans were exempted of fee and one of every two siblings used to study free. These schools produced students who got into KMC, LUMS, GIKI, Pakistan Air force and many other leading institutions of Pakistan. These schools were situated in areas where the winters were 7-8 months long, where u can see glaciers in the mid of May. These people had talent but there was nothing to materialize it until Salahuddin put that stone into place. Unfortunately on 19th May 2009, Salahuddin breathed his last due to a fatal heart attack. The Schools are now operated by his widow, Kaniz Fatima and his children. Even after such an incident, his wife and his family kept strong and even today the candle of education burns bright, even brighter( the school has been upgraded to College level) for a kid born on the outskirts of the nation

۔ایک دفعہ ایک ملک کا بادشاہ بیمار ہو گیا، جب بادشاہ نے دیکھا کے اس کے بچنے کی کوئی امید نہیں تو اس نے اپنے ملک کی رعایا میں اعلان کروا دیا کہ وہ اپنی بادشاہت اس کے نام کر دے گا جو اس کے مرنے کے بعد اس کی جگہ ایک رات قبر میں گزارے گا۔
سب لوگ بہت خوفزدہ ہوئے اور کوئی بھی یہ کام کرنے کو تیار نہ تھا، اسی دوران ایک کمہار جس نے ساری زندگی کچھ جمع نہ کیا تھا ۔ اس کے پاس سوائے ایک گدھے کے کچھ نہ تھا اس نے سوچا کہ اگر وہ ایسا کرلے تو وہ بادشاہ بن سکتا ہے۔ اور حساب کتاب میں کیا جواب دینا پڑے گا اس کے پاس تھا ہی کیا ایک گدھا اور بس! سو اس نے اعلان کر دیاکہ وہ ایک رات بادشاہ کی جگہ قبر میں گزارے گا۔بادشاہ کے مرنے کے بعد لوگوں نے بادشاہ کی قبر تیار کی اور وعدے کے مطابق کمہار خوشی خوشی اس میں جا کر لیٹ گیا، اور لوگوں نے قبر کو بند کر دیا، کچھ وقت گزرنے کے بعد فرشتے آئے اور اسکو کہا کہ اٹھو اور اپنا حساب دو۔ اس نے کہا بھائی حساب کس چیز کا میرے پاس تو ساری زندگی تھا ہی کچھ نہیں سوائے ایک گدھے کے !فرشتے اس کا جواب سن کر جانے لگے۔ لیکن پھر ایک دم رکے اور بولے ذرا اس کا نامہ اعمال کھول کر دیکھیں اس میں کیا ہے ، بس پھر کیا تھا،سب سے پہلے انہوں نے پوچھا کہ ہاں بھئی فلاں فلاں دن تم نے گدھے کو ایک وقت بھوکا رکھا تھا، اس نے جواب دیا ہاں، فوری طور پر حکم ہوا کہ اسکو سو درے مارے جائیں،اسکی خوب دھنائی شروع ہو گئی۔اسکے بعد پھر فرشتوں نے سوال کیا اچھا یہ بتاو فلاں فلاں دن تم نے زیادہ وزن لاد کر اسکو مارا تھا، اس نے کہا کہ ہاں پھر حکم ہوا کہ اسکو دو سو درے مارے جائیں، پھر مار پڑنا شروع ہوگئی۔ غرض صبح تک اسکو مار پڑتی رہی۔
صبح سب لوگ اکھٹے ہوئے اور قبر کشائی کی تا کہ اپنے نئے بادشاہ کا استقبال کر سکیں۔جیسے ہی انہوں نے قبر کھولی تو اس کمہار نے باہر نکل کر دوڑ لگا دی، لوگوں نے پوچھا بادشاہ سلامت کدھر جا رہے ہیں، تو اس نے جواب دیا،۔
او بھائیوں پوری رات میں ایک گدھے کا حساب نہیں دے سکا تو پوری رعایا اور مملکت کا حساب کون دیتا پھرے ۔ لیکن کبھی سوچا ہے کہ ہم نے بھی حساب دینا ہے اور پتہ نہیں کہ کس کس چیز کا حساب دینا پڑے گا جو شاید ہمیں یاد بھی نہیں ہے ۔
ایک آخری بات عرض کرتا چلوں کے اگر کبھی کوئی ویڈیو، قول، واقعہ،سچی کہانی یا تحریر وغیرہ اچھی لگا کرئے تو مطالعہ کے بعد مزید تھوڑی سے زحمت فرما کر اپنے دوستوں سے بھی شئیر کر لیا کیجئے، یقین کیجئے کہ اس میں آپ کا بمشکل ایک لمحہ صرف ہو گا لیکن ہو سکتا ہے کہ، اس ایک لمحہ کی اٹھائی ہوئی تکلیف سے آپ کی شیئر کردا تحریر ہزاروں لوگوں کے لیے سبق آموز ثابت ہو
