The delinquent’s voice
The rich seek pleasure in land, wealth, luxury. The poor resort to their homes, their children, and their family. The poor people of your country are mourning. Let’s do the least we can do, let’s mourn with them.
Very conveniently, Mr. Khan asks: "What can we do about it?" Very innocently he asks: "I don't get it. Why are they protesting?" Someone needs to wake them up-the politicians, that the soil has lost a son, and not just one. The least you can do Captain, is arrange for proper medical and financial support for the survivors and be if not more than at least a little sensitive to the parents who have lost children. People who could barely afford a decent education have no other option but to spend a fortune to save their dying children. Give them money, give them ambulances. Malala can be sent abroad for treatment on the expenses of the government, then why not these little ones? I don't know whom to pity, the dead or the alive. The least you could have done was to postpone that marriage. You waited for so long Sir, I am sure you could have managed a month or two without a wife.
Somebody needs to tell Mr. Prime Minister that the children of this country, the children of MY country, which from no angle seems to be YOUR country, deserve all the same security as much as your very dear grand-daughter. Why are you even here? Go back to Saudi Arabia! With a very heavy heart, all I have to say to you is that I am sorry. I am sorry on behalf of this nation which repeated its mistake for the second time. Sorry, you exist.
So many problems this nation faces, all of which are solved with one simple motivation of self interest. The politicians are working in self interest, let us do the same. Start solving your issues on your own.
Stop expecting from the politicians. Politics is a game of power; politicians are blinded by the love and lust of money. They won't come to rescue you. Stop expecting from the army. Let them fight the terror.
Don't wait for a Princess Diana, or a Mother Teresa to be sent down from the heavens to solve your issues. They are your people. This is your country. No Khan or Khaki can set us on the right track, unless we don't want to be on one. Don’t wait for a leader, start moving towards the right direction.
Stop lying, cheating and harassment in homes, offices, courts, sports. Support your people in their aims, educate your children, and redefine your rights and wrongs. Work on your moral code. Quit on hypocrisy, let go of the double standards.
Want to get closer to God? Forget Qadri and read the Quran. Want a “Naya” Pakistan? Change yourself first, be the change you want to see. Want to work for others? Start working on yourself.
I do realize that many will find this impractical but you certainly can bring a change. You can do your family some good, your school some good, your city some good by aiming higher and working on all those aims. You don’t need a leader to excel in academics; you don’t leader a politician to polish your talents. Switch on the best in you, bring your A game. That would do! That would be sufficient on your part. It will add to the total. It will constitute for a positive change.
As they say, God helps those who help themselves. The day our masses change their attitude, the nations sets on its path to progress.
It's not a one man fight. It's not just what used to be Imran Khan's fight, it is very much a nation's struggle for peace and prosperity.
