Review meeting of Elementary Wing was chaired by CEO (DEA) - Rana M. Azhar Khan. The performance of schools for the quarter Jan-Mar 2017 was reviewed and the chair appreciated the hard work of teachers, listened to their problems and passed guidelines for UPE/USE campaign. The heads of best performing schools of elementary wing in LND and CM RoadMap access indicators were awarded certificates of appreciation by worthy CEO.

Universal Primary/ Secondary Education campaign was launched in Sargodha District by worthy DC Sargodha Liaqat Ali Chattha, CEO (DEA) Rana Azhar, DEO (SE) Ch. Allah Rakha, DEO (MEE) Liaqat Ali Naveed, DEO (WEE) Mst. Wajeeha Naheed Anwar, Dy DEOs, AEOs, Head Teachers, Teachers, Public Representatives i.e. Ch Hamid Hameed MNA, Chaudhary Faisal Farooq Cheema MPA, Mayor Sargodha Aslam Naveed, Officers and officials of District government, public representatives & all stake holders participated in it.It was decided unanimously that everyone will actively, sincerely and wholeheartedly ensure that no child is left behind and the retention of newly admitted children in schools will also be ensured by creating friendly atmosphere in all educational institutions.Departmental officials will also keep close contact with the School Councils & parents to make public schools' working better by providing more physical and learning resources.

Musarrat Iqbal - a dedicated teacher of District Sargodha featured by PESG.

Musarrat Iqbal has been the only teacher at the Government Girls’ Primary School for the last 24 years. For the last two decades, her school had no classrooms, boundary wall or furniture. A two room building was constructed only a little while ago, and the boundary wall of the school is still under construction. Despite the absence of necessary facilities, Musarrat takes pride in the fact that her students have gone on to become lawyers, teachers, and civil service officers.

Musarrat has had to convince parents in her area to send their children to school. Since most families earn their livelihood as land tenants or daily wage labourers, sending a child to school may mean that a family is forgoing a daily income of Rs 200. One of Musarrat's students is living with her grandmother, away from her parents who work as domestic help in Islamabad, so that she can get an affordable education here. Musarrat recalls having sought the help of a local mosque imam to convince parents to educate their children; he was kind enough to spread the message through the Friday sermons.

Musarrat has had trouble finding additional female teachers for the school; however, this setback has not discouraged her in any way. She believes that the support she receives from her community will keep her going, in spite of all the hurdles that come her way.

Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Mr. Liaqat Ali Chattha chaired Education DRC meeting. Rana Azhar Khan - CEO (DEA), Bilal Hassan - DFC (CM RoadMap), DMO, DEOs (SE, MEE, WEE), Deputy DEOs & AEOs participated in it. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the best performing Deputy DEOs and AEOs of the district on the basis of quarterly performance scores against CM access and quality indicators & Literacy and Numeracy Drive (LND) scores. Worthy DC also announced one month salary bonus for top performing Dy. DEO & AEO. Low performing marakiz were also discussed and their AEOs were directed to improve their performance in the forthcoming month so that quality of education may be ensured in district Sargodha.
