Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, Director, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Sargodha, along with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Team, visited The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) for a productive and forward-looking discussion focused on advancing research initiatives and faculty exchange programs.
The meeting provided an important platform for meaningful dialogue on enhancing research productivity, fostering inter-university collaboration, promoting faculty mobility, sharing academic expertise, and creating new opportunities for joint research and knowledge exchange.

The College of Agriculture, University of Sargodha organized an International Seminar on “Japanese Agri-tech Interventions for Rice Productivity & Industry” on 08 September 2026, bringing together farmers, researchers, industry professionals, and students to explore innovative approaches for enhancing rice productivity.
The seminar featured Dr. Takanobu Higashiyama, Leader of Bio Agri-Science Unit at Nagase Viita Co., Ltd., Japan, and Engr. Khalid Mehmood, Head of Agri Mechanization Division, Meskay & Famtee Trading Company (Pvt.) Ltd., Pakistan.
The session highlighted Japanese agricultural technologies, modern mechanization, high yielding rice varieties, and strategies to reduce harvest and post-harvest losses. It also emphasized the potential for stronger Pakistan–Japan collaboration to improve rice productivity and strengthen the agricultural value chain.
Together, we can transform agricultural innovation into greater productivity, sustainability, and prosperity.
