Debating & Literary Society SMC

A new chapter of the Debating & Literary Society SMC begins with Mr. M. Zohaib Khan as its President for the session 2026-27. Having served as General Secretary of the DLS SMC during the 2025-26 tenure, he brings experience, vision, integrity and a profound respect for the power of words. A poet and orator, he has represented SMC in numerous Intercollegiate Declamation competitions. We anticipate a tenure defined by thoughtful debate, creative expression and a renewed dedication to the ideals of the society.

Having served as Editorial Secretary of the DLS SMC during the 2025-26 tenure, she brings experience, integrity and a profound respect for the power of words. A great poet with excellent experience in management and creatives. We anticipate a tenure defined by thoughtful debate, creative expression and a renewed dedication to the ideals of the society.

Ayesha Jamil, our Former Joint Secretary, was the voice that amplified our society's presence! Her exceptional leadership and teamwork made our events specially our intercollegiate declamation contest truly unforgettable. We're grateful for her dedication and contributions to the Debating and Literary Society, SMC. Thanks, Ayesha, for being an amazing partner in our journey !❤️

Hufsa Malik, our former Administrative secretary, was literally the backbone of our Debating and literary society SMC 🙌. Her dedication and hard work played a huge role in making our events a success and her contribution to the Administrative domain was immense . We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all her efforts. Thanks to Hufsa Malik for being an amazing Administrative Secretary. We'll miss her ! 💕

“ہم پرورشِ لوح و قلم کرتے رہیں گے”

کسی مقرر کی زبان سے نکل کر آسمانِ دنیا کو چیر کر بارگاہِ یزداں کو پہنچتی کوئی آواز ہو یا
واپس الہام کی صورت پلٹ کر کسی شاعر کے قلم سے جاری ہو جانے والے کوئی الفاظ ہوں تاریخ گواہ ہے کہ
فنِ تقریر اور فنِ تحریر کا ساتھ ہمیشہ چولی دامن کا رہا ہے۔۔
خدا نے جب قوموں پر اپنے پیغمبر مبعوث کیے تو انہیں تقریر کے فن سے نوازا
اور ان کے ہاتھوں میں اپنی تحاریر صحیفوں کی صورت میں دیں
آدم سے لے کر محمدِ عربی(ص) تک بلا شک و شبہ ہر پیغمبر فنِ تقریر کا ماہر تھا اور اس کے ہاتھ میں موجود الہامی کتاب اپنے دور کا بہترین ادب تھی
روایات بیان کرتی ہیں کہ “زبور” خدا کی طرف سے عطا کردہ بہترین نظموں اور گیتوں کا مجموعہ تھی۔۔
سو قدیم تاریخ سے لے کر آج کے جدیدانسان تک مختلف شعبہ ہائے زندگی میں تقریر و تحریر انسان کے ساتھی رہے

مجلسِ مباحث سرگودھا میڈکل کالج گزشتہ سالوں کی طرح اس سال بھی تقریری مقابلہ کا انعقاد تو کرے گی ہی
مگر اسی سلسلہ کی دوسری جہت فنِ تحریر کا خلا پر کرنے کے لیے ایک نئی روایت کی بنیاد رکھنے کی بھی کوشش کرے گی؛
“سحرِ نو” بلاشبہ سرگودھا میڈکل کالج جیسے نوزائیدہ کالج کے لیے ایک نیا سنگِ میل ثابت ہوگا۔
“سحرِ نو” کو خواب سے حقیقت بنانے کا سفر کٹھن اور طویل تو ہے مگر نا ممکن نہیں!!
سو شعر و ادب سے شغف رکھنے والے تمام احباب کو دعوت دی جاتی ہے کہ آئیں اور اس سفر میں ہمارے ہمسفر بنیں اور دیوانوں کے اس خواب کو حقیقت بنائیں۔
