Mile competition was held between senior most class and first year. GOC 23 Div Maj Gen Salman Fayyaz was the chief guest at the occasion. Whole college along with the chief guest witnessed a great physical show from the cadets of both senior most classes. This competition was held in a view, firstly to bid farewell to the second year in a unique way so that they themselves and juniors should remember this event forever, secondly juniors should see their seniors, follow their footsteps and admire their efforts during their stay. Previously we had farewell sports competition that was played between both the classes with high spirit and good sportsmanship.
The results of the sports competition are as following:
- Football was won by first year during penalties
- Hockey was won by first year under 3:1
- While basketball and volleyball went to second year with 51:50 and 2:1 respectively.
Results for mile competition were as following:
- First year aggregate was 622 points and with an average of 77.7%
- Second year aggregate was 574 with an average of 71.7%.
- First year won the mile competition convincingly, knowing that they will be challenged next year by their juniors.
Chief Guest handed over the prizes to the winners and runners up. Chief Guest talked to cadets about his sweet memories of teen age. He said that future of Pakistan is in good hands after witnessing the performance of cadets. The event concluded as the chief guest had refreshments with the Commandant and faculty members.

Alamgirian pay homage to their departed brothers regardless of whether they met them ever or not. It's also true that some leave stronger marks and towering legacy behind and thus more sadness behind when they leave the world. Such was the case when Dr. Brig Akhtar Nawaz Malik (Ex- principal WEC and HoD Mechatronics) died on 27th of August, tons of messages poured in online and in circles where the fond memories of late Brig Akhtar were deeply missed. Following is one such tribute paid by Tiwana.
'My teacher, mentor, and friend. He was the cornerstone of my life. Always smiling, always happy, and always full of life. He shaped my thinking, helped me make better decisions, and inspired me to live with a greater purpose. For over 15 years that I knew him, he was the inspiration of how life should be. MCJ is also running an institute by the name of Military College Institute of Information Technology (MCIIT). This institute is registered with TEVTA and affiliated with PBTE Lahore for conducting Computer Short Courses Exam. Few days ago, in Musa Hall, an impressive show was held where the successful students were awarded with Gold Medals and completion certificates. At the occasion, College Commandant Brig Zahid Nasim awarded certificates to approx 200 students. MCJ is now playing its pivotal role in providing quality computer education to general public as well to enhance the literacy rate in the country and guide young generation on their quest to become healthy and positive part of workforce.

One of the most popular instructors in living memory of Military College Jhelum - Prof. Muhammad Mushtaq is no more with us. He was born in 1939.
An instructor of Urdu subject, he had a command on literature and history not like any other. He was also House Master of Babar House and Mahmood Ghaznavi House for many years and with a kind hearted soul such as his, cadets of all classes looked up to him to resolve their internal battles, struggles and inspiration to excel in their lives.
He shall be dearly missed.

Sports Gala 2018 was held at Cadet College Hasan Abdal between 13-16 Sep.
Military College Jehlum and Cadet Colege Kohat were invited to participate in the event.
MCJ captured the overall championship by topping tables of all three sports i.e. football, hockey and basketball.
CCK were the runners up and CCH got 3rd. Congratulations to the winners and the participants as well.

A lot of things change in four years. People move on, get new jobs, locate to different cities, some even move abroad while others get busy in new assignments and changes in life. What didn't change in four years (and many years for others) for this entry/class, who left MCJ in 2014, was strong bond of friendship and fond memories of Military College Jhelum so they got together from various cities, jobs, units and universities to celebrate their anniversary of joining Military College Jhelum.

Admissions in 8th Class Entry – 2019 Open
Online applications are invited for 8th class admission in Military College Jhelum. The last date for submission of application is Monday, 10 September 2018 with normal fee and Wednesday, 10 October 2018 with double fee.
How to Apply
Online Application Form is available at College website (www.militarycollege.edu.pk) which is required to submit online. On submission of the completed form, the candidate will print Challan Form and deposit registration fee as prescribed in the Challan Form in any online Branch of Habib Bank Limited (HBL).

Wards of Army Officers (Serving / Retired) – Rs. 1700/-
Wards of Junior Commissioned Officers / Soldiers (Serving / Retired) – Rs. 1400/-
Wards of Civilians and all others including Civil Armed Forces, Navy, Air Force, MES, Rangers, FC, Coast Guards Personnel etc – Rs. 2000/-
Eligibility Age.
12 to 14 years as on 01 April 2019, however, waiver of 90 days will be granted by the competent authority in upper and lower age limits in all categories as per existing rule for which candidate will have to apply.
Qualification.
Class 7th passed, candidates appearing in 7th class final exam may also apply.
Male candidates can only apply.
Selection Procedure. Admission will be based on performance in Written Test, Intelligence Test / Interview and Medical Examination.
Examination Schedule.
Entrance Examination will be held on Sunday, 28 October 2018. Candidates will have to appear in written test of English, Urdu, Mathematics, General Science, and Islamiat (Pakistan Studies for non-Muslim) from syllabus of class 5th, 6th and 7th of Punjab Text Book Board. Candidates qualifying the merit will only be called for Intelligence Test and Interview at prescribed centres. Finally selected candidate will only be informed / called.
Self Finance.
In addition to regular induction, some seats are available for induction under self finance scheme. Candidates seeking admission in this category will also select Self Finance option on the same online form. Selection procedure for this scheme will be the same, however, their Fee Structure will be different.

MCJ Reunion is scheduled to start today. Reunion happens every five years and Alamgirians from all walks of life gather to pay tribute to their Alma Mater from Peshawar to Karachi and abroad. May this bond of brothers grow ever stronger and may this prestigious institute continue producing great many people forever.
Most of these gents met each other in 1996 when they joined Military College Jhelum. When they left in 2001 and joined PMA Kakul for 108 Long Course, they were together again. Fast forward to 2017 and the bond of friendship and brotherhood they formed in 1996 is still going strong. Here, they met at Quetta, where some of them traveled all the way from Rawalpindi.

Meet Usman Haider Dogar. He is one of those charismatic people who bring true leadership and commitment in every role you put them in. He briefly served in Pakistan Army until 2006 until he joined UN and has been with various of its missions ever since. Usman is a graduate of Fletcher School, Tufts University among many courses he has done.
"I have and continue to deputize the Head of office as OIC on several occasions during which I represented UNMISS and UNSOM at weekly coordination meetings with the State Government, UN agencies and development partners. I have also made presentations at various stakeholders meetings, chaired senior management meetings, made presentations during sessions with council of ministers, and at other key events such as Head of office’s partnership workshop, Mission leadership seminar and panel discussions on HIV/AIDS and gender based violence. I have also engaged state government during this period on critical issues pertaining to good governance, POC and other issues relating to realization of UNMISS mandate.
As Team Leader in several posts I have held, I have empowered others and motivated them to produce quality work. I have managed conflict within the staff team as well as at state level. For example, I took the lead to initiate conflict management mechanism together with early warning mechanism during the dry seasons in the aftermath of cattle raiding activities between Western Bahr El Ghazal and neighbouring Warrap state. I supervised the team to develop a collaborative approach to address the issue bringing onboard other sections such as MLOs, UNPOL and Protection officers of UNMISS in the effort to avert an escalation of the issue. Similarly, as former DDR Team Leader with UNAMID, Darfur, I established a joint planning team comprising of Political Affairs, Civil Affairs, Human Rights, Child Protection, UNPOL, military observers (MILOBS) United Nations Development Programme - UNDP UNICEF, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, UNFPA, DDR commission and other substantive and support components of the mission for better implementation of specific projects including QIPS and CLIPS. As part of capacity building efforts of national staff and counterparts, I have facilitated regular training programmes within and outside Sudan.
At UNESCO and UNDP, I played a lead role in the preparation of comprehensive training & management needs assessment & capacity building of managers, NGOs, CBOs, VTCs, and host trainers to achieve sustainability in reintegration project. I liaised with UN, NGO, private & public sectors and livelihood actors to gather labor market information and identified synergies and program activities suitable for reintegration of ex-combatants. My work also involved preparation, implementation and monitoring of reintegration plan in Somalia using Results Based Management approach with major focus on DDR activities.
I have up-to-date knowledge of events relating to security, political issues particularly those that affect the operational area for which I am responsible. I possess excellent analytical skills which have helped me identify key issues and propose solutions according to the needs. I have a wealth of experience in analyzing information for the different audience. While performing equally well in individual capacity, I am a team player and enjoy working in multi-cultural environments. I have excellent communication and strong report writing skills. I am proficient in all computer related skills and am familiar with UN and other relevant computer soft wares.
I have sound knowledge and understanding of issues and challenges related to nature of conflict, political situation, in South Sudan, DRC Congo, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan and other countries of the region and my skills and professional experience would help me provide technical support and advice for the design, implementation and monitoring of any such programs and achieve program objectives and targets. I have the ability to work productively under stress and in difficult environment and I try to stay positive in the face of challenges. I seek feedback to improve my skills, knowledge and performance and I am always willing to learn from previous experience and mistakes and apply the lessons to improve myself."
