Continuing its commitment to academic quality, the University of Sahiwal conducted Selection Committee interviews for the appointment of Visiting/Part-Time Faculty for the Academic Year 2026–2027.

The Selection Committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Javed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, University of Sahiwal, with Mr. Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar Shah, Registrar, and Dr. Muhammad Ikram, Associate Professor/Director Estate, Department of Chemistry, as members. Dr. Muhammad Husnain Kamboh, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration / Director Academics, served as Secretary and Member of the Selection Committee.

The interview process involved subject experts from the following academic disciplines:

Business Administration: Dr. Waris Ali, Chairperson, Department of Business Administration; Dr. Saira Aziz, Assistant Professor of Business Administration.

Chemistry: Dr. Muhammad Amin Abid, Chairperson, Department of Chemistry; Dr. Abdul Hameed, Associate Professor of Chemistry.

Commerce: Dr. Shaheera Amin, Chairperson, Department of Commerce; Dr. Ammara Saleem, Assistant Professor of Business Administration.

Mathematics: Dr. Hafiz Tariq Masood, Chairperson, Department of Mathematics; Dr. Muhammad Rafiq, Associate Professor of Physics.

English: Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairperson, Department of English; Dr. Abrar Hussain Qureshi, Associate Professor of English.

The Department of Economics, University of Sahiwal, successfully conducted the theses defence of M.Phil. students (Session, 2024-26) reaffirming its commitment to fostering a strong research culture and academic excellence.
We were privileged to have Prof. Dr. Sophia Anwar, Dean, Faculty of Economics & Management Sciences, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), serve as the external examiner, whose insightful feedback and expert assessment enriched the scholarly experience of the M.Phil. scholars. The session was also graced by Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, Chairperson of the Department and faculty members/internal examiners, Dr. Adeel Farooq and Dr. Ayza Shoukat.
The Department of Economics remains dedicated to producing competent researchers and economists capable of addressing contemporary economic challenges through quality research and critical inquiry.

Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Javed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, University of Sahiwal, the Selection Committee conducted interviews on August 3, 2026, for the recruitment of Visiting/Part-Time Faculty for the Academic Year 2026–2027.

The committee also included Mr. Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar Shah, Registrar, Mr. Muhammad Ishaq, Additional Controller, while Dr. Muhammad Husnain Kamboh, Associate Professor of Business Administration / Director Academics, served as the Secretary of the Selection Committee, ensuring the smooth conduct and transparent documentation of the interview process.

The interviews were conducted for the allocation of teaching assignments in various academic disciplines, including Islamic Studies, Arabic, Environmental Science, Pakistan Studies, Sociology, Geography, Political Science, Philosophy, History, International Relations, Urdu, Biology, Public Administration, and other related disciplines.

In a vibrant effort to promote environmental sustainability, the University of Sahiwal’s Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, in collaboration with the Directorate of Estate, organized a Monsoon Plantation Drive alongside renowned environmentalist Mr. Khizar Wali Chishti. Faculty members and students actively participated in the initiative, which was further bolstered by Mr. Chishti’s generous donation of 200 fruit trees aimed at enhancing campus greenery and safeguarding local biodiversity. To mark the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Javed Akhtar commended Mr. Chishti’s noble contributions and presented him with a commemorative souvenir. The event was attended by GYM Club Focal Person Dr. Rana Adeel and Director Estate Dr. Ikram Ahmad. Looking ahead, the university announced plans to partner with Mr. Chishti to establish a Miyawaki forest on campus.

Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, University of Sahiwal, personally visited the examination centres during the admission tests to ensure their smooth, transparent, and fair conduct. His visit reflected the University's unwavering commitment to merit, transparency, and academic excellence.

Accompanying the Vice Chancellor were Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, Registrar; Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Khan, Additional Controller of Examinations; and Dr. Muhammad Waseem Tufail, Director Student Affairs. The team thoroughly inspected the examination arrangements and monitored the overall process to ensure that all admission tests were conducted efficiently, fairly, and in accordance with the highest academic standards.

The Department of Chemistry, University of Sahiwal, successfully conducted the M.Phil. and Ph.D. Chemistry admission tests and interviews. The Chairperson, Dr. Muhammad Amin Abid, closely supervised and managed the entire admission process, ensuring that all procedures were carried out transparently, fairly, and strictly on merit. With the dedicated cooperation of the faculty members, the tests and interviews were completed smoothly and efficiently, reflecting the department's commitment to academic excellence and quality postgraduate education.

The Department of Business Administration, University of Sahiwal, successfully conducted the MS and Ph.D. admission tests and interviews. The Chairperson, Dr. Waris Ali, closely supervised and monitored the entire admission process, ensuring that all activities were carried out with complete transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to merit. With the dedicated cooperation of the faculty members, the admission tests and interviews were completed smoothly and efficiently, reflecting the department's commitment to academic excellence and quality postgraduate education.
