The University of Sahiwal has taken a significant step toward financial digitization by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Habib Bank Limited (HBL) for the implementation of an online fee collection system.
In a brief but impressive ceremony held at the university, the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, Mr. Muhammad Awais Javaid (Regional Business Head HBL from Lahore), and Mr. Kashif Hussain (Head Transaction Services SME) formally signed the MoU.

This collaboration aims to facilitate students through a seamless and hassle-free digital payment mechanism, enabling them to deposit their university dues conveniently via the HBL Mobile Application without any additional service charges.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, appreciated the joint efforts of the Treasurer’s Office and the Directorate of Information Technology for introducing modern digital solutions to enhance student convenience and institutional efficiency. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the university’s vision of adopting smart and paperless systems in administrative and financial operations.

The ceremony was attended by Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, Additional Treasurer; Mr. Saif Ullah Khalid, Regional Chief HBL Sahiwal; Mr. Amir Shahzad, Deputy Treasurer; and Dr. Muhammad Ayyoub, Director Information Technology, along with representatives from HBL.

This collaboration marks a major milestone in the university’s journey toward digital transformation, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in financial transactions for students and stakeholders alike.

The worthy Vice Chancellor of the University of Sahiwal, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, inaugurated the newly constructed main entrance of the University in a graceful ceremony. He was accompanied by the Registrar, Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, Director P&D, Dr. Muhammad Amin Abid, and other academic and administrative heads of the University.

The inauguration marks another significant step in the University’s ongoing development and commitment to providing a welcoming and well-structured campus environment. The newly constructed main entrance not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the University but also reflects its growing stature and commitment to progress.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Planning and Development Directorate and all departments involved in the successful completion of the project. He emphasized that such developments symbolize the University’s vision for modernization, accessibility, and a conducive learning atmosphere for students and faculty alike.

The University of Sahiwal organized a vibrant ceremony to commemorate the Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan with great enthusiasm and national spirit. The event reflected the university’s commitment to celebrating the cultural and historical diversity of Pakistan.

The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the heroic struggle of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for their freedom from the Dogra regime and paid rich tribute to their courage, unity, and patriotism. He appreciated the students from GB for organizing a memorable event that fostered national harmony and inclusivity on campus.

The ceremony featured speeches, cultural performances, and the cutting of a symbolic cake of independence to mark the region’s historic liberation. A large number of academic and administrative heads, faculty members, and students attended the event, creating an atmosphere of joy and solidarity.

The University of Sahiwal proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Punjab Prisons Staff Training College (PPSTC) on Wednesday, October 22. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, University of Sahiwal, and Mr. Saqib Nazir Chaudhary, Deputy Commandant, PPSTC.

The ceremony was organized by the Directorate of External Linkages, Dr. Saira Irfan, in collaboration with the Department of Applied Psychology.
Registrar Syed Asghar Ali Shah and Director Students Affairs Dr. Waseem Tufail were also present at the event.
