Achieving 8+ bands in IELTS for the 4th time is a moment of reflection for me.
Recently, some of my local students in Pakistan expressed a concern that scoring Band 8+ in IELTS within Pakistan might be difficult, as they believed examiners may not award such high scores locally. As a trainer, I felt it was important to verify this perception rather than simply dismiss it.
Even though my previous IELTS result was still valid, I decided to book the test again to experience the process firsthand and confirm whether these concerns had any basis.
The result speaks for itself.
This post is for my students and fellow IELTS trainers: there is nothing unusual happening in the marking process. With the right preparation, clarity of ideas, and strong language control, high band scores are absolutely achievable.
For the record, I will still be applying for a recheck of my Writing module, as I believe it may reach Band 8.5 as well.
Consistency, preparation, and belief in the process always pay off.
