Szambu MDCAT Update

Today, Szambu's hearing took place, and there was discussion in the courtroom regarding the possibility of re-conducting the exam. The court has postponed further hearings until tomorrow, with a high chance of a final decision being made then. The court has asked PMDC to make a decision regarding the conducting body for the exam.

The Sindh High Court in Karachi, headed by Justice Salahuddin and Justice Amjad Ali, has declared the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 null and void after investigations by a court-ordered committee, the Sindh government, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) confirmed that the test was leaked, just like last year ¹.

According to the FIA, the MDCAT 2024 paper was leaked on September 21, 2023, at 8:21 pm, which was discovered through forensic analysis. The FIA has taken strict action against four to five groups involved in the leak, seizing their numbers and putting their names on the Exit Control List (ECL).

The court has also ordered that the test be retaken within the next four weeks through a reputable testing institution in Karachi, following the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) syllabus and difficulty index. Furthermore, only the MDCAT 2024 results will be considered for admissions to MBBS and BDS programs in 2024, and the results of previous years (2023) will not be included in this year's merit list.
