C. Short Answer
*1. Name any 3 parts of the respiratory system.*
- Nose/Nasal cavity
- Trachea
- Lungs

*2. What is the difference between inhalation and exhalation?*
- *Inhalation*: Breathing in. The diaphragm contracts and moves down, chest expands, and air with oxygen enters the lungs.
- *Exhalation*: Breathing out. The diaphragm relaxes and moves up, chest contracts, and air with carbon dioxide leaves the lungs.

*3. Why is the link between respiratory and circulatory systems important?*
The respiratory system takes in oxygen and removes carbon dioxide. The circulatory system then carries that oxygen to body cells and brings carbon dioxide back to the lungs to be exhaled. Without both working together, cells wouldn’t get oxygen for energy.

*4. Where does cellular respiration take place in the cell?*
*Mitochondria* – often called the β€œpowerhouse of the cell.”
