Indus Valley School of Learning

Indus Valley School of Learning At Indus Valley School of Learning, we inspire young minds through quality education, creativity, and character building.

A place where every child discovers confidence, compassion, and a brighter future. In my capacity as an educator and as the head of IVSL, I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to influence lives, even in modest ways, and to witness the emergence of the values that the school has instilled in them. It is profoundly rewarding to witness the earnest concern exhibited by children towards

animals, the environment, human rights, and a multitude of other significant issues. One cannot overlook the significance and impact of an educational institution in the intricate and perplexing era we find ourselves in today. Confronted with a myriad of challenges such as intolerance, animal cruelty, disregard for our cultural heritage, and environmental degradation, it is imperative that we seek viable solutions. I contend that the fundamental source of numerous issues we face is attributable to misguided attitudes and a deficiency in awareness. Enhancing our education system is the sole path to progress, as perspectives and concepts can be cultivated, defined, and influenced within educational institutions. At IVSL, we prioritize the cultivation of personal growth alongside academic pursuits. We have established a reputation as an institution dedicated to imparting values, and we take great pride in this distinction. In the process of planning and designing the curriculum for Mathematics, Sciences, and Languages, we have endeavored to consider both local and international standards comprehensively. The offspring of our prior graduating cohorts have demonstrated their capabilities not only within Pakistan but also internationally; a significant number of them have received offers for double promotions. Sports, art, and music constitute essential components of the curriculum, enhancing children's emotional, mental, and physical capacities. In summary, our objective is to foster comprehensive academic and emotional growth in students. We hold the conviction that extraordinary experiences can unfold both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. Field trips, sports, and various extracurricular activities are instrumental in imparting lessons in sportsmanship, analytical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, comprehension, and a multitude of other essential skills. I consider myself fortunate to collaborate with a faculty that exhibits remarkable motivation, alongside parents who provide unwavering support, as they are instrumental in facilitating this remarkable journey. It is truly a privilege to be a member of team IVSL. Finally, I extend my sincerest wishes to my students and trust that they will embody the principles they have acquired during their time here as they navigate their future endeavors.

Plant as many trees as you can this season.
“Trees help to protect us from floods by intercepting rainfall. When rain falls on a forest, trees play a vital role in managing water flow. The canopy of a forest acts like a giant umbrella, catching and holding rainwater before it hits the ground. This slows down how quickly rain reaches the soil, allowing water to gradually seep into the earth instead of rushing over the ground and straight into rivers and watercourses. This delayed water flow can reduce peak water levels in rivers during heavy storms, helping to prevent flash floods.” - Martina Egedusevic

Beginning the academic year with recitation of Surah Yasin is another tradition we uphold every year. We feel that seeking Allah’s blessings is essential for new beginnings.

“What humans do over the next 50 years will determine the fate of all life on the planet.”
— Sir David Attenborough
Throwback to the time in 2023, when in keeping with tradition, IVSLians planted plum and apricot saplings in Ayub Park. At IVSL, we believe that we must all contribute to saving our planet, which appears to be on the brink of becoming uninhabitable due to global warming. We firmly maintain that planting trees is one of the most effective ways to save our planet.

Dr. Zohra Shaheen, Araiz’s mother adds, “One of the best schools that you can opt for your child in the twin cities is IVSL.
The curriculum put together and authored by the esteemed principal Madam Yasmin Ashraf herself is exceptional! It is well researched, logical accurate and factual and inspires the student to continue learning on his/ her own. The school instils in children the universal human values required to become an exemplary global citizen while giving them confidence in their own history and identity.”
Thank you Dr. Zohra and Araiz 💙

“It is exercise alone that supports the spirit, and keeps the mind in vigor.” – Cicero
At IVSL, sports is given special attention as we believe that for our students to exercise their brains, they must also exercise their bodies.

One of the primary concerns at IVSL is the deteriorating environment caused by global warming and other factors. To address this, we decided to install a TV in the common area that continuously plays videos on environmental issues. This way, students passing by can pause for a moment to watch the videos at their own pace without feeling pressured.
And thus, it was heartwarming to witness Ahmad and Adan the other day completely engrossed in watching one of the videos where the ocean communicates with humans.

And we couldn’t help but smile :).
