The area comprising Ayub National Park was previously known as ‘Topi Rakh’. In Urdu language, the words ‘Toop’ represent the English word ‘Gun’ and ‘Rakh’ means ‘Reserve Forest’. The Urdu language word ‘Topi’ is derived from the Urdu word ‘Toop’. ‘Topi’ was a small village in a ‘Rakh’ in the present location of Gulistan Colony.
