The Directorate of Student Affairs successfully organized the Prize Distribution Ceremony of RWU Rising Pakistan 5.0 on May 20, 2026, at RWU Fatima Auditorium. The event brought together outstanding student participants from various universities who had competed in multiple competitions organized by RWU Societies, Clubs, and the Student Council. The ceremony highlighted the spirit of healthy competition, creativity, and inter-university collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Sobia Masood, Chairperson, Department of Psychology; Prof. Dr. Saima Mustafa, Chairperson, Department of Mathematics; Dr. Ibtisam Butt, Controller of Examinations and Ms. Sanila Aslam, Additional Librarian, graced the occasion as chief guests. They distributed cash prizes and certificates among the winners in recognition of their exceptional performance and participation in the event.
HITECH University, Taxila, was declared the Best University and also received the Best Ambassador Award for achieving the highest level of participation. Prof. Dr. Sobia Masood appreciated the efforts of the organizers for the successful ex*****on and coordination of the event. Ms. Khadija Saeed, Director Student Affairs, commended the dedication and teamwork of all focal persons, appointment holders, and members of societies, clubs, and the Student Council for ensuring the smooth and successful completion of the program.

RWU’s 5th Annual Job Fair 2026, organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs on May 21, 2026, served as a vibrant platform connecting students with prospective employers and career development opportunities.
A large number of organizations/companies participated in the event, offering students valuable insights into the job market and potential career pathways. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Rooh Ul Amin, Chairperson, Department of English, Mr. Naveed Ashraf, Treasurer, and Dr. Motism Billah, Director ORIC, and Ms. Khadija Saeed, Director Student Affairs, who visited the company stalls and presented shields to the participating organizations in recognition of their valuable contribution to the success of the Job Fair.
The event reflected Rawalpindi Women University’s continued commitment to enhancing students’ employability and strengthening linkages between academia and industry.

The Directorate of Student Affairs, in collaboration with Askari Bank Limited, organized a Financial Literacy Session on May 19, 2026, at Rawalpindi Women University. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of personal finance, budgeting, saving, digital banking, and responsible financial management. Representatives from Askari Bank shared practical knowledge and guidance to help students make informed financial decisions and effectively manage their financial resources.
Ms. Khadija Saeed, Director Student Affairs, commended the efforts of Askari Bank Limited in promoting financial awareness among students and appreciated the timely facilitation provided through the on-campus account-opening and ATM card distribution for the students.

The students from the Department of Zoology secured 1st and 3rd positions in Model Display competition, and 2nd and 3rd position in the Poster competition, during the International Conference and Expo on Life Sciences 2026 held in Arid Agriculture University from May 18–19 2026.
A total of 51 students from the Department of Zoology participated in the conference and expo, gaining valuable exposure and learning opportunities. Furthermore, Dr. Samina Qamer, Chairperson, Department of Zoology, and Dr. Fareeha Ambreen, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, served as Co-Organizers of the conference.

A productive meeting was held between Dr. Zia ul Haq, Executive Director, Higher Education Commission (HEC), and Dr. Samina Qamer, Chairperson, Department of Zoology, along with Dr. Fareeha Ambreen, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology.
The discussion focused on strengthening industry-academia linkages, with particular emphasis on developing training opportunities for honey farmers through academic collaboration. The proposed initiative aims to enhance the quality and yield of honey production by training on-field workers.

The Department of Zoology observed World Bee Day by organizing an Awareness Walk on May 20, 2026, highlighting the vital role of bees and other pollinators in sustaining ecosystems, biodiversity, and food security.
Held under the 2026 theme, “Bee Together for People and the Planet – A Partnership that Sustains Us All,” the event emphasized the enduring connection between humans and nature and the urgent need to protect pollinators.
The walk served as an important platform to raise awareness about pollinator conservation and encourage collective action for a healthier and more sustainable environment.

The Department of Psychology organized a seminar titled “Practical Guidance on Career Planning, Goal Setting, and Competitive Exam Preparation” on 19th May 2026. The session was conducted by Miss Amna Zafar, along with distinguished guests Mr.Umar Shahkar, Mr.Faisal Jahan, and Miss Manahil Haroon from The CSS School.
The seminar aimed to provide psychology students with practical insights into diverse career pathways, effective goal-setting strategies, and preparation for competitive examinations, and to help them make informed professional decisions.

The Department of Botany organized a Campus Awareness Walk on the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity 2026 to highlight the importance of conserving biodiversity for food security and climate resilience.
Held under the HEC theme “Acting Locally for Global Impact”, the walk actively engaged faculty members and students from the Departments of Botany and Chemistry. The initiative successfully connected classroom learning in Environmental Biology and Ecology with practical public awareness activities.
Dr. Yamin Bibi, Chairperson, Department of Botany, emphasized the vital role of biodiversity conservation in sustaining ecosystems and human well-being. Students also shared valuable insights on biodiversity services, threats to biodiversity, and the conservation of natural resources.

Rawalpindi Women University hosted Air Cdr. Afzaal Ahmad Khan, Director ORIC, Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad, for an interactive session with faculty members on the ORIC Scorecard and HEC KPIs aimed at achieving institutional targets in research and innovation.
The session proved to be highly informative and insightful, providing the ORIC team and faculty members of RWU with valuable guidance and practical strategies for advancing research excellence, innovation, and institutional growth.
During his visit, Air Cdr. Afzaal Ahmad Khan also inaugurated the Entrepreneurship Expo organized by the Department of Information Technology under the guidance of Mr. Kashif Ali, Manager External Linkages and Technology Transfer, ORIC. The expo showcased innovative student prototypes and entrepreneurial ideas, reflecting the creativity, talent, and technological advancement of RWU students.
