VC RWU, Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif, participated in the launching ceremony of “Youth for Humanity”, an initiative of Governor of Punjab, Hon’ble Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.

On the occasion, an MoU was also signed between RWU and Pakistan Red Crescent Society, establishing a framework for collaboration on youth-focused humanitarian and community initiatives.

RWU's first special syndicate meeting was held on August 28, 2026. Chair and members warmly welcomed the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif, who shared welcome remarks and highlighted key emerging initiatives. The Syndicate considered the F&PC recommendations, including the Budget 2026–27.

Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor, RWU Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif, faculty members of Rawalpindi Women University participated in the 4-Day Training Program on “AI Literacy for Faculty Members – Building AI-Ready Institutions”, organized by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, held from August 27–31, 2026.

The training focused on building practical AI skills for curriculum design, teaching and learning, assessment, research, and academic administration, with RWU faculty actively participating, and exploring AI tools to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning.

Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif, Vice Chancellor RWU, has placed a strong emphasis on empowering faculty members with contemporary AI skills and digital competencies. She particularly stresses the importance of adopting AI-enabled teaching and learning tools to enhance classroom delivery, improve student engagement, support innovative pedagogical practices, and ultimately contribute towards better learning outcomes for students.

The initiative reflects RWU’s commitment to preparing its faculty and students for an increasingly AI-driven higher education landscape and fostering a culture of innovation, continuous professional development, digital transformation, and excellence in teaching and learning.

The Department of Fine Arts, Rawalpindi Women University, participated in the 4th Young Graduate Show: “A World Out of Place”, held on August 28, 2026, at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Islamabad.

A total of 10 talented RWU Fine Arts students were selected to showcase their work alongside young artists from various universities. Their artworks were selected across all three major categories: Miniature, Painting, and Sculpture, reflecting their creativity, artistic excellence, and dedication to their craft.

The Department of Fine Arts, successfully inaugurated its 4th Graduate Thesis Exhibition on August 19, 2026, at the Rawalpindi Arts Council Gallery.

The exhibition showcased the final thesis projects of 26 graduating artists across three specializations: Miniature Painting (10), Painting (12), and Sculpture (4), reflecting their creativity, artistic exploration, and engagement with traditional and contemporary art practices.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Shazia Rizwan, Parliamentary Secretary, Information & Culture Department, Government of the Punjab, alongside senior faculty members including Prof. Dr. Rooh ul Amin, Chairperson Department of English; Prof. Dr. Sobia Masood, Chairperson Department of Psychology; and Prof. Dr. Saima Mustafa, Chairperson Department of Mathematics.
