Convocation Ceremony at Foundation University Islamabad
Convocation ceremony for graduates of MBBS & MS Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy (CPT) was held at Foundation University Islamabad on November 4, 2025.
Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military)(Retired), Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Fauji Foundation graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Chief Guest conferred seven Gold, six Silver, thirty-one Distinction and two Merit Certificates on 155 graduating doctors and professionals.
Director & Principal Foundation University School of Health Sciences, Major General Professor Qudrat Ullah Malik, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military)(Retired), highlighted the academic progress and achievement of major milestones by the institution including global research recognition and the recent World Physiotherapy accreditation. He emphasized that despite technology and artificial intelligence have become integral to healthcare true healing still emanates from empathy.
The Chief Guest Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder congratulated the graduating doctors, commended their achievements by acknowledging role of their parents and teachers. He reminded the graduating doctors to serve humanity with humility and purpose to efficiently meet healthcare challenges of the country.
The Chief Guest applauded Foundation University’s gradual growth as a distinguished centre of learning and excellence across Medicines, Dentistry, Nursing Sciences and Allied Health.

An elegant and illustrious ceremony to pay homage and tribute to the resilient nation and valiant Armed Forces on 60th Defence Day of Pakistan was organized by the Fauji Foundation at Foundation University Islamabad (FUI).
Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Fauji Foundation Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Haider (Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military) (Retired) graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Senior Management of Fauji Foundation, FUI, a large number of doctors, paramedics and students attended the ceremony.
Students from Fauji Foundation Education System presented tableaus & national songs with specific reference to the Defence & Martyrs Day. High-achieving students, children of Shuhadas, ex-servicemen, and employees with outstanding welfare contributions were awarded for outstanding performance.
The Chief Guest in his address applauded the unflinching resolve of the Armed Forces to defend Pakistan at any cost. The Managing Director reiterated the diverse role of Fauji Foundation as the largest self-sustained social welfare organization that withstands its welfare objectivity including families and wards of martyrs through a diverse and thriving portfolio of commercial companies and significantly contribute to Pakistan’s economy, industrial development, and the national exchequer through substantial corporate taxes.

An Eid Ul Azha Connect was hosted by Fauji Foundation, bringing together participants from all Divisions of Head Office and associated organizations. Besides festivity the event proved to be an exceptional platform to showcase the artistic talent of vibrant team members of Fauji Foundation.
Managing Director Welfare, Lieutenant General Khalid Zia, Hilal-e Imtiaz (Military)(Retired), graced the occasion and witness the significant artworks. The Managing Director (Welfare) had an affectionate informal interaction with the participants. The event reinforced Fauji Foundations’ commitment to foster a connected, inclusive community where talent and culture thrive together.

Honoring Dr. Qudsia: A Life Dedicated to Service
Dr. Qudsia’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service. Born in 1929, she overcame personal tragedy to establish the Shaukat Omar Memorial Hospital (SOMH) in 1960, providing healthcare to underprivileged communities.
In 1979, she donated the hospital to Fauji Foundation, entrusting it with her life’s work to continue serving those in need. She remained its Medical Director until 2005, ensuring that quality healthcare reached the most vulnerable.
Today, Fauji Foundation continues her legacy, reinforcing its mission to provide accessible and quality healthcare across Pakistan. Dr. Qudsia’s legacy lives on through every life touched at SOMH.
