The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), successfully conducted the 7th session of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) Phase II – Mentorship Program for Universities (MPU).

The webinar, themed "Inclusivity and Diversity," was delivered by Dr. Rabia Khattak, Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Jazz. During the session, Dr. Khattak explored the role of conscious and unconscious bias in shaping mentoring relationships and academic decision-making, emphasizing how inclusive practices can create equitable opportunities for all students. Faculty members engaged in meaningful discussions on recognizing hidden biases, fostering respectful learning environments, and adopting practical strategies to promote fairness, belonging, and inclusive leadership in higher education.

ORIC Conducts Faculty Webinar on Inclusivity and Diversity

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, organized an insightful online faculty development webinar under the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) Phase II – Mentorship Program for Universities (MPU). The session, titled "Conscious & Unconscious Bias: Beyond the Blind Spot – Mentoring Students Effectively, One Decision at a Time," was delivered by Dr. Rabia Khattak, Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Jazz. The webinar focused on understanding conscious and unconscious bias in academic mentoring, highlighting how everyday decisions can influence students' educational experiences and opportunities. Faculty members explored practical strategies for recognizing and interrupting bias, promoting equitable mentoring practices, and fostering a more inclusive academic environment. The interactive session encouraged reflection on mentoring behaviours and reinforced the importance of fairness, transparency, and inclusive leadership in higher education. The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, held a productive meeting with representatives of Full Foods to explore collaborative opportunities in fisheries research, student internships, research commercialization, and technology transfer.

📊 Category-Wise Participation Highlights – Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYIC) 2026

The Qamar Uz Zaman Business Incubation Center & Agri-Entrepreneurship Hub, ORIC PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, is pleased to share the category-wise participation statistics for the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYIC) 2026.

A total of 45 innovative projects/startups were submitted, reflecting the growing entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindset of students and aspiring entrepreneurs. The diversity of submissions demonstrates a strong commitment to addressing real-world challenges through technology, sustainable solutions, and impactful business ideas.

The highest participation was recorded in:
🔹 Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence – 39.1%
🔹 Agriculture & Food Security – 37.0%
🔹 Climate & Renewable Energy – 8.7%

Additional innovative ideas were received in the fields of:
