Honor for PMAS–Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi
PMAS–Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi has brought honor to its name by securing 1st Position in the exhibition held during KISAN MELA 2025, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Poonch Rawalakot, on September 25, 2025.
The event showcased innovative technologies, improved crop varieties, and sustainable farming practices from leading agricultural institutions and local farmers. Among the distinguished participants were NARC Islamabad and the Directorate of Sericulture, Azad Kashmir.
In recognition of its outstanding display of research products and innovative solutions for modern agriculture, PMAS–Arid Agriculture University stood out as the top institution, while NARC Islamabad secured 2nd Position.
This achievement reflects the University’s continued commitment to advancing agricultural research, technology transfer, and providing solutions for the farming community.

Inauguration Ceremony / Orientation of 5th Cohort 2025 at Qamar uz Zaman Business Incubation Center
Prof. Dr Qamar uz Zaman, Vice Chancellor of PMAS-AAUR inaugurated the 5th Cohort at QZ BIC under the umbrella of Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC). All deans, directors and heads of management departments attended the ceremony.
Prof . Dr Khalid Saifullah KLhan Director ORIC briefed the guests about previous activities and selection procedure at QZ BIC.
More than 70 application were received and after initial scrutiny 30 startups were invited for final pitching of their entrepreneurial ideas. Fifteen startups were finally selected by the a panel of judges for incubation for a period of six months.
Prf. Dr Qamar uz Zaman the Chief Guest, visited all entrepreneurs. Incubated startups briefed the worthy Vice Chancellor about their business ideas and activities. Prof. Dr Qamar uz Zaman appreciated the startup teams and assured all possible cooperation from the University. He further urged to motivate and involve more students in entrepreneurial activities for a self driven future and financial stability.

Muhammad Aqeel Sultan, Registrar, PMAS-AAUR elaborated the service rules and regulations of the University. Mohsin Iqbal, Deputy Registrar, Treasure office briefed about Accounts and Audit Matters. Assistant Registrar, Purchase Office explained about the E-Procurement procedure. Director, Advanced Studies demonstrated rules and regulation about postgraduate studies and Assistant Director ORIC also briefed about Research activities and commercialization strategies to faculty members. MoU Signed Between PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi and Pakistan Dairy Association
Foundation laid for revolutionary collaboration in food, nutrition, livestock, and agricultural research

An important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi and the Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) to promote collaborative initiatives in the fields of food security, nutrition, livestock improvement, and sustainable agriculture.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, Vice Chancellor of PMAS-Arid Agriculture University, and Dr. Shehzad Amin, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Dairy Association.
Prominent figures present at the ceremony included Dr. Muhammad Zubair, Manager Operations at PDA, and Dr. Muhammad Nasir, Director Corporate Affairs at FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan, among other distinguished guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman stated:
"This agreement is not merely a formality, but a concrete step towards sustainable development, food security, and the technical training of youth. The university is committed to enhancing the skills and capacities of farmers, food industry stakeholders, and dairy professionals through modern agricultural education and applied research. Addressing Pakistan's food and nutrition challenges requires a strong partnership between academia, research, and industry — and this MoU reflects that shared vision."
He further announced that the university will initiate joint projects and internship programs in collaboration with PDA, focusing on livestock health, advanced dairy technologies, value addition, and improvements across the food value chain — offering students world-class training opportunities.
Dr. Shehzad Amin emphasized that the Pakistan Dairy Association is fully committed to connecting research institutions with the practical needs of the industry. He noted that this partnership will become a model for other universities across the country to follow.
As per the MoU, both institutions will jointly work on research projects and organize training workshops in areas such as nutrition, livestock breeding, increased milk and meat production, waste management, and eco-friendly technologies.
The ceremony concluded with a mutual commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technology transfer — paving the way for agricultural development and food self-sufficiency in Pakistan.
