The United Nations mine action community will commemorate the annual International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action on 4 April 2025 under the theme “Safe Futures Start Here”. The UN mine action community will bring attention to the progress made over the last year and the challenges that remain in countries around the world.
Building on the Pact of the Future, considering the condemnation of the devastating impact of armed conflict on all persons including persons with disabilities and seizing “on opportunities provided by new and emerging technologies to empower and advance equity for persons with disabilities, including through promoting the availability of assistive technologies”, events and campaigns will focus on raising awareness about the needs of people around the world.

"Space X" makes an amazing breakthrough in the Science of Rocketry. Well Done Elon Musk
Think about how we use rockets today. Imagine driving your car once and then throwing it away. Ridiculous, right? That’s exactly how most rockets work right now! SpaceX is flipping that concept upside down. They’re creating the first truly reusable rocket"

Under Water Demolitions (UWD) are resorted to sometimes for being on safer side and for ease but it must be understood that it is highly hazardous for the Marine Life. The Detonation Waves travel faster and longer , the more dense the medium is. It means that Detonation Waves in Water travel longer and with greater strength as compared to Air. When a detonation occurs under water, all living creatures within a very large radius die simultaneously due to serious concussion caused by the detonation wave. Moreover it results into water contamination.

Buried / Penetrated UXOs like this Aircraft drooped Bomb at an Urban Center at Afghanistan, becomes a tricky task for the EOD Operators. There are multiple approaches to deal with such UXOs Like disposing them in situation by evacuating the population around and managing to build fortification around the UXOs for hazard mitigation, or to dig them up cautiously from one side to finally employ fuze cutters / charges for low order detonations / neutralization. Whatever way of disposal it merits, makes it a tricky affair

Limits to an EOD suit? Bullets, bombs?
Nothing is bullet proof. Nothing is bomb proof. A big enough and fast enough bullet will destroy anything. A large enough bomb will destroy anything.
The EOD bomb suit is mostly soft armor (kevlar) with a single hard plate in the front for enhanced fragmentation protection. The suit will probably stop at least some common handgun calibers like 9mm. It will not stop most rifle calibers.
There is a new bomb suit coming out that will integrate with an EOD soldier’s body armor. Since the body armor has SAPI plates that can take hits from 7.62 rounds, that means the new EOD suit will naturally have that capability as well, at least for the plates (the rest of the suit will not stop rifle rounds).
The Next Generation Advanced Bomb Suit: The Future of Soldier Protection
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Soldiers have one of the most life-threatening jobs in the military.
Bombs/explosives are more complicated. The suit is designed for both light fragmentation as well as blast overpressure. The thing about overpressure is that is drops off pretty rapidly with a little bit of distance. So a few feet can make a very significant difference in survivability. So pretty much anything is potentially survivable depending on distance from the blast. A person in the suit can take a few pounds of explosives up close and personal but people have survived much larger blasts from a little further away.

Early warning of harmful nuclear materials is critical for first responder safety. Thermo Scientific™ RadEye™ GN and GN+ Gamma Neutron Pagers are highly sensitive radiation detection devices that warn of rising levels of gamma and neutron radiation and immediately classify the gamma source (NORM/non NORM). These small, lightweight units provide clear visual and audio alarms to help emergency services personnel locate radioactive materials in a variety of situations. They are also an excellent tool for expanding the surveillance area of stationary monitoring systems or to verify alarms of such systems.

Defence Against Ammonium Nitrate
A fertilizer bomb is little more than ammonium nitrate, fuel and a simple detonator, and it can be assembled in one of two ways: For the most potent explosives, bomb makers can boil the fertilizer to separate its constituent parts and score a supply of ammonium nitrate -- the chemical they're actually after. Or, they can crush up the fertilizer's granules and use 'em as a quick-and-dirty bomb-building base.
We are hoping to mess with that process. We are interested in compounds that'd make the fertilizer turn to foam or gel when mixed with water -- rendering the boiling process futile (and rather messy). Or, some kind of "grinding inhibitor" that would keep the fertilizer granules in one piece, making them entirely useless to terrorists trying to dissolve or grind them.
"adding coated urea fertilizer granules to the bags of ammonium nitrate. The combination of urea and ammonium nitrate has a strong affinity for water and would be very difficult for insurgents to dry into an explosive powder," "The urea additives would not stop the insurgents from processing the fertilizer into bombs, but it would complicate their task and potentially make the blast less potent."

A Huge Blast in Beirut, Lebanon
Yesterday a Huge blast occurred at Beirut which seemingly was a massive explosive detonation in result of a fire which broke out few minutes before the explosion. Seems to be a typical De-flagration to Detonation Transition (DDT) in result of fire. Reportedly the material seems to be Ammonium Nitrate. Possibilities of EPM are also been investigated
