عادِ اعظم HCF معلوم کرنے کی آخر ضرورت کیا ہے؟ اور ہماری روزمرہ زندگی سے اس کا کیا تعلق ہے؟

اس بات کا جواب ہم ایک مثال سے لیتے ہیں۔
فرض کیا ہمارے پاس سرخ(Red) رنگ کے 72 غبارے ہیں، پیلے(Yellow) رنگ کے 120 غبارے ہیں جبکہ سبز(Green) رنگ کے 96 غبارے ہیں۔ ہم یہ سب غبارے زیادہ سے زیادہ بچوں میں تقسیم کرنا چاہتے ہیں تا کہ سب غبارے بچوں میں پورے پورے تقسیم ہو جائیں اور کوئی غبارہ باقی نہ بچے۔
اب چونکہ ہر قسم کے غبارے بچوں کی زیادہ سے زیادہ تعداد پر تقسیم کرنے ہیں لہٰذا بچوں کی تعداد وہ بڑے سے بڑا عدد ہو گا جس پر 72، 120 اور 96 پورے پورے تقسیم ہو جائیں۔ گویا کہ بچوں کی تعداد عادِ اعظم کے برابر ہونی چاہیئے۔
ان تینوں اعداد یعنی 72، 120 اور 96 کا عادِ اعظم 24 ہوتا ہے جو نیچے دی گئ تصویر میں ہم معلوم کر چکے ہیں لہٰذا یہ غبارے زیادہ سے زیادہ 24 بچوں میں تقسیم کیے جائیں تو یہ غبارے پورے پورے تقسیم ہو جائیں گے لیکن اگر بچوں کی تعداد 24 سے زیادہ ہو گی تو سب بچوں میں غبارے پورے پورے تقسیم نہیں کئے جا سکیں گے۔ یوں ہم اپنی روزمرہ زندگی کے اس طرح کے مسائل عادِ اعظم سے حل کر لیتے ہیں۔
